More likely, the Limey contingent in Thailand had him knocked off since he was too successful in business and 'knowledge on the ground'...

He went for a walk in the Cameron Highlands and was never seen again. A fair chance he was eaten by something with stripes.

The Limey contingent in Thailand or the Thai Chinese?

Who runs the silk business he left behind?

He tripped, or, fell during his walk, broke a leg, died of thirst and his body was eaten by wild animals.

    Tiger got him.
Few years ago, had a 2 week conference up there. As is my want I would go for a jog in the jungle before breakfast. On one occasion something came crashing thru the bush, I would love to say it was a big roaring stripey thing, truth is I didn't see it, but It sounded big.

I ran back to the hotel as fast as fvck, kept to the roads after that.

The back side of Cameron Highlands is pretty wild country, loaded with wild boar. Some of them are huge and mean as flock all. Not unusual to seem them way over 100 Kg and tusks as sharp as a razor.

Used to hunt them in the area. The old dude that owned the land had a photo of a pickup truck with 3 tigers laying in it. All shot on the same day.

An interesting part of Malaysia, pure country.

I was trekking in the jungle and wanted to get down to the river, through a bamboo forest..it took ages

On my way back up, I was crashing through all the branches making a hell of a noise, all the way to the path at the top.

When I emerged, there were three tourists looking in my direction with some trepidation...might have been you PP

He was stung by a scorpion all of a couple of miles from civilisation. Survived, was shipped back to his home country & eventually died, with his family trying to sell the sordid story of how he was kidnapped by his wife & family & his dreadful ordeal...
