    Your Humorous Reactions To Thais

What humorous reactions do you have to certain things Thais do? Maybe it is not funny to them and maybe just a little bit funny to you.

1 .The truck behind you flashing its lights like a mad man?

I slow down as I am a retired old farang that can't see well. None of that is true, but I turn into Tim Conway behind the wheel when that happens.

    2. A bunch of Thais announce "Look a farang?"
I quickly look around and say "farang nai, farang nai?"

    3. You ask for something in Thai at a restaurant and the waitress gets nervous and just looks at your wife to translate?
I smile and laugh and ask her if she speaks Thai.

Those things may not be funny to you, but I get a bit of a laugh out of doing them.

What are some things that you do that you kind of chuckle about to yourself?

This is my most common piss-take of those unwilling to do assist, due to som tam munching, or general laziness.

I once laid a puppy some neighbours poisoned on their doorstep. Grrr. Not humorous but the point was made.

Some days when I am bored I like to go down to the auto section in Lotus. Now, every time you do this you are always accosted by 2 or more staff who try to sell you some useless car accessory or cleaner, presumably they are on some sort of commission. I get their attention by walking down their aisle then just as they start to mob me I carry onto another aisle where they aren't allowed to bother you and stand there like a dog at the end of their leash.

I then walk back into the auto aisle and do it again.

You can amuse yourself for hours by doing this over and over while the mrs looks at shoes. Try it yourselves!

Yeah, that's great fun. I do it in Robinson's.
As long as you're walking, they tend not to approach. But if you stop, they head toward you. If you reach out and touch a product, they pick up their pace.

If you pick a product up they break into a full sprint. At that point I quickly put the product down and leave. It's great fun and they must know that I'm just having a laugh at their expense. If they were the least bit helpful and not only interested in selling me their product, I wouldn't fcuk with them like that.

When I'm in a shop or restaraunt, and I pay the bill, and the staff give the change to my gf even though the gf didnt pay with her money. That pisses me off, they even might have to lean further or walk around the table to do it.

I dont have anything smart to say or do in that situation, can someone suggest something?

Maybe im just stupid for thinking that the change for my money should come back to me.

Why does Khun Thai do this?

I prefer it when they give the change to my wife. She normally leaves half the tip I do.

OK. I asked my wife about this.

She said that many Thai girls are too shy to go by a farang or the waitress is just stupid.

One time in 7-11, the till girl offered my change to a random girl behind me in the queue. Do they hate to see the farang get any money back? "keep it with the Thais" mentality? hmmmph.

I was having a chat with our builders

they asked me why we did not want to rent out our cottages to farangs to make money

I said I did not like farangs

for some reason that really cracked them up, couldn't stop laughing
