So, even though there was no internet forums for the common everyday user in which to read and post to, there was no loss for becomming familiar with the developing technology.

^ Surprised you can still see to participate in forums

I'm a bit like Marmers. Read & watch TV. Used to watch a lot of movies, but I rarely watch one all the way through, now.

    What did you do?

Smoke pot and eat magnum ice creams mainly.

I didn't really use computers until the mid 90s. We had that Pong game, a TRS 80 and Atari back in the 70s/80s. Before using the Net, I read more books, went out more, drove places on weekends, got together with friends more, did some fishing in my teen years, spent more time chasing women (now I am married), probably drank a bit more in the past, spent more time visiting relatives now families are broken up and people have passed away. Things change.

I would say the net has got me more interested in News especially political news. I've had a news addiction since the Gulf War back in the 1990s though. The net has loads of useful information but its getting to the point where there's just too much to follow and a lot of it is just pure waste. When a read the first few posts on thie thread I thought for a moment that it might be a good idea to toss my computer out the window.

By the way what the hell am I doing here at midnight typing this!

Less is more. That goes for using the internet too. I do plan to get rid of my computer but only for a laptop. I just want something more compact that I can use whereever I want then put away out of sight.

Someday, I will find a simpler life that doesn't involve all this swirling electricity lighting up pictures and making strange unnatural sounds.
