Sucks, so far. Messed up yet-another DIY project during which I stepped on a bag of nails. It (the bag of nails) appeared to adhere to the bottom of my rubber slipper, so I shook it loose, thinking that would be it. But, no. One of the nails had embedded itself in my slipper and when I took that first step I drove it straight home into the heel of my right foot.

I bought a BB gun last week. Today I bagged a buffalo and my neighbor's dog. Neither so much as yelped, but both ran off.

Starting to learn the Kentucky windage and trajectory of the crappy little organic BBs that came with it. I might need to spend the extra hundred baht for the real steel BBs.

Cool! Make sure you watch the chuckwagon races. Did a buckle bunny try to pick you up yet?

yep, those races are good, lots of people getting squashed etc; pity about the horses though

buckle bunny!!? they never touched me, honest

will go down there again to find out more

Some knobber from LG took away my PC for 4 days to install windows.

Four fucking days to do something I could do in a couple of hours.

    Twats.

Nobody said it was going to be four days until this afternoon when I went to collect my pc and found that it wasn't there nor was the IT man.

Bunch of useless twats. Got all my work backed up on the D: as per his advice.

if I had known he was taking it I would hav ebacked it up on the network drive.

Got a bloody email asking me to go back to work. BUGGER!

Money's ok but do I need it?
    Can't take wife.
Cost of living is 50 times what it is here.
    Total stress - here none.
Why am I stressing about it?
    Sense of "duty"?

I don't know, just something else to fret about I guess.

This is yesterday's, but I couldn't post, then:

Got to the center at around 10:15. First thing I saw as we drove up was a dead pup. We don't keep pups at the center, because the adults kill them. They come home with me until they're 5 or 6 months old. So, I immediately knew that someone had dumped it the night before. Poor thing had bite marks around her neck. Removed her body. Got on with feeding. Just about to put food down in a back area & found another dead pup (nearly stood on the poor wee thing). OK, two pups dead - are there any more? Thorough search revealed 5 hiding & alive; only 6 weeks old. Put them in a cage, ready to take home. Well behind as far as time's concerned & in a rush. Excellent! Still have the rest of the work to do & a dog to take for chemotherapy.

Get home with the pups, eventually. Clean up the space they'll stay in & put them in. Go to do errands. Get back in time to feed dogs at home & flea spray new pups (infested). Run out of pup-suitable flea spray half way through. Go to collect littl'un from school. Bring him home, feed him, do sandwiches for next day. Change dog's beds. Get littl'un ready for bed. Turn on the laptop & try to connect to the internet. No dial tone. Phone TOT & the (very nice) girl says no can do until tomorrow (today). Just got it back now. Shitty, shitty day.

But if anyone wants a really cute 6 week-old pup, I have some.

God - or whoever - bless you.
Yes we do want a pup/s but can't work out how to get down there and pick it, them up.
If you remember there was meant to be an 80th birthday party next week but that's gone out the window as the old fella's in hosi. for a while. so I'm off to UK next week. Let's see what we can organise when I get back.
    Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope he gets better soon. Pups would be really cheap to send by air, BTW.

    Have a good trip.

How much would you reckon for 2 pups to Chiang Rai? I'm serious.

^Depends on weight & whether they can both go in one flight cage (never tried to do that). CMN's dog cost 2,500 to Chiang Mai & she was about 20kg. these pups are about 1-2kg each. Add the volumetric weight of flight cage(s) & I would imagine under 1,000bt for the two, less if they can both go in one cage - don't know the regs on that.

VG. It's a very contagious genital cancer. It's spread through mating (genitals) & can also be contracted (through a dog sniffing an affected dog) in the eyes or nose. It can also be contracted through contact with affected fluids. Treatment is weekly chemotherapy.

Is it really worth it? I presume the chemo isn't cheap and that money could go towards better things like food for dogs that don't have cancer.

And the pups would have had all the requires vaccinations etc? Could you send me photos? I'm going to Chiang Rai tomorrow. Probably stay 2 nights, or longer if needs be. I'd really like to do this. Madame wants to go a buy a couple of pups from a shop and I'm really not keen on that. If you've got a couple of pups that are clean and vaccinated and ready for the move we could maybe organise it in the next three to four days.

If it's only a grand or 2 for the flight no worries.
    Have you got my email?
    If not I'll pm it.

This has really cheered me up after a pretty down day. Thanks.

Yes, it's worth it. This dog is 300bt per treatment & it usually takes 4 to 8 treatments. It's completely curable, if caught earlyish. She'll be 100% fit in a few weeks.
