My wife's sister dissappeared 4 days ago and totally out of the blue.
We, my wife and I had brought her down from the village when she was 11 years old and to live with us. Since she has been with us she has never been a problem, helping out around the house, good school results and always appeared happy. Recently turned 16 and we had given her a little bit more freedom (and to go out with her friends) but she had to be home by 10 in the evening.
4 days ago she didn't come home. My wife and her parents were distraught and immediately went to the police.
To cut a very long story short the police have found her (in Southern Bangkok) with a 29 year old Thai man and have brought her home today. They (the police) have asked if we wish to press charges against this man and my wife and her mother are considering doing so.
The reason for this thread is I have always been somewhat anti the police here and in this instance they have been absolutely caring, helpful and gone out of their way to help us.
They throughout their investigation have used their own personal resources to find my wifes sister and have even worked after hours.
No request for under table money and exhibited real concern at all times.
A few fruit baskets (with bottles of black label whiskey) handed out in the next few days.
T.D allows me to share my story with you all and a story which contradicts the general public's opinion of the police here in LOS.
