    Birthdays

    I hate birthdays.

You have to understand that hillbilly was born 53-years ago.

What do I have left? Maybe 10-20 years. Hopefully 25. My recently departed grandmother died at the age of 94. But she did not drink nor smoke.

Am I a middle aged citizen now? Excuse me, while I go cry in my beer...

BTW, if you give any funny B-day smiles, I will red you.

Best wishes on your birthday, hillbilly. Most sincerely meant; I have a lot of respect for you.

BTW, if you want something even more depressing, I've just found out tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of my parents' engagement. Why is that depressing? Because I found out by looking inside my Dad's engagement ring (I wear both his engagement & his first wedding ring & have done since he died five and a half years ago) & I'm messengering my Mum tonight.

NickA, I just read that thread and my post.

    Apologies.

Happy birthday to your old B-day, and happy birthday to hillbilly's.

Your only as old as the girl you are feeling.

Age is only a state of mind! Thinking about it too much will only make you age faster.

Many happy regards with many more to come

Only you can answer that. Look on the bright side, you have got a while to go before you catch me up.

Looking like this yet, HB? Oops, edited a line and lost the photo. 5555 I see NR, momo as grammy Clampett, CMN as Jethro, and that would be me and Chinthee as your bankers.

Here's a clip of your theme song and a whole tv show.
    Love,
    Jettie
Happy Birthday and 42 more to come.

    ^Hehehe.

I nearly redded you for that, Jettie. I thought you were calling me Ma Clampett. Then I realised you'd said 'your left' , not 'the left'.

Chinthee approves of being cast as Mr. Drysdale.

In 1962, he was cast in his most famous role as the greedy bank president, Milburn Drysdale, on the hit TV sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies and at last achieved international fame. Nancy Kulp portrayed his ever loyal and "by the book" secretary, Miss Jane Hathaway.

In that role, he portrayed the banker who managed the millions of dollars (in oil money royalties) in the bank account of country gentleman J. D. Clampett (portrayed by Buddy Ebsen). Often, Mr. Drysdale would be required to talk with Clampett about how strange "city life" and "city folk" are (when compared to Mr. Clampett's view of "normal" country folk).

On occasions when Mr. Clampett was considering withdrawing all his funds and returning to the country (his home near Bugtussle), Mr. Drysdale would often panic and work to try and convince him (and his unusual family) to remain in Beverly Hills (to great comedic effect).
Drysdale always seemed like a closeted gay to me, though I shouldn't talk, after Ant Robeenson gave me a red today and called me a "cross-dressing loon."

Sorry Hillbilly, I missed your birthday. Not wanting to cause any offence, but being right out of birthday poems, I'll trust that you had a good time and wish you the best for the coming year. No smilies by request.

I know what you mean about the age thing. I'm not too far behind you.
