Those "OMG! I would never see/do this at home" moments

Sometimes in Thailand you get moments (good or bad) that you would never in a million years have in your home country. I've had a few over the years. Probably the most memorable was going on a border check in a helicopter with the Border Police.

I experienced one today. A family of wild boar have a home somewhere in the hills near our dog centre. I've only seen them once before, but as we (a volunteer & I) drove up today, there was a pretty large juvenile male boar walking past us. We both cursed the fact that neither of us had a camera & went to work. We often get leftovers from the Hilton Resort here in HH, and we had some today. I mixed them with dry dog food & started to feed the dogs who live outside the compound. As usual a lot of Tessadban Pound dogs came & started stealing the food, so when I heard a commotion, I expected it to be the usual kerfuffle between our dogs & theirs'.
Not a bit of it. The boar, smelling the food had decided it was worth the risk of about 40 dogs and was muscling in on the food. Amused, I dealt him his own serving. He stood there, unfazed by the dogs and us watching him and leisurely ate every scrap. I got half a dozen great pics of him on my phone, but have no idea how to upload them. Anyway, when finished, he ambled off.

It was a fantastic moment which I would never have experienced in UK. Anyone else got a 'never in my home country, but definitely here' moment to share?

The phone says it has bluetooth but it doesn't seem to work. Yes, I have a laptop. If I can get someone who's not a total luddite to help me out, I'll post the pics. Hang on, if I go to a photo shop (ie Kodak or such) can I get them to put the pics on a CD for me?

A damn sight bigger than any of the dogs. He wasn't full grown, but he was pretty solid. I'm not very good at estimates but I'd guess 80kg at least.

    Missing the point, here.

Yes, I do have the pics. No, it's not a fisherman's tale. Yes, I will endeavour to figure out how the hell to get them onto TD. And, as soon as I do, I shall post them here.

Now, getting back to the point of the thread: Does anyone (other than DD in a brothel) have a 'moment' to share?

Hell that was probably the highlight of my sex life, ok it weren't romantic or anything, although I did let some of them kiss me before getting the old English sausage in their mouths, but guys really aint into romance, ok they say they are untill they get into your knickers and that, but believe me, guys are only interested in shagging, none of that romance crap that they say they like to appease the female population

Okay, I will tell you about my pet monkey, I was 26 living in an apartment building in Pattaya when I decided to buy a monkey, I bought a baby marmoset for 1,500baht, the first night she got into my fridge and spread all the food over the apartment, yes including the butter, 250 grams of melted butter on your floor spreads a long way when you got a monkey playing with it, fok the place was a mess.

So I rented a 2 bed bungalow in Pattaya with a garden all round it, stuck her on a big run and she was happy, most days I would take her to Buddha mountain and the Monks would let free one of the other monkeys so they could play together in the trees, used to have to start the motorbike to signify to her that playtime was over and it was time to go home, one time she fell out of a tree from about 50 foot, I assumed she would be dead, she was okay, just a bit shocked, the blowjobs at the soi yodsak bar was a better experience though

About 15 years ago went down to see some fish dealers in Sumut Prakarn. My company was supplying them plastic crates at the time.

Met the head honcho and he decided to take us for a day out on his boat. Amazing fresh seafood and lovely to be out on a boat again.
He instructed the captain on the boat to stop off at this huge temple (Wat) and he left the boat to go on see one of the monks.
Came back to the boat and told my boss and I that we could go to the main what and see something amazing. Apparently a farang had never been in this wat before.
Approached the wat entrance and could see this cloud of what looked like swallows flying overhead of what looked like a cofin (looked like a dark living cloud). The head honcho guy explained that this famous monk had died many years ago and had not decayed at all. He was physically the same as the day he died.

Well we entered the Wat and slipped and slided on the bird shit and made our way up to the coffin which was open.
Low and behold there was a body of a man in the coffin dressed in monks robes and looked like he was sleeping. I looked up and there must have been at least 5,000 birds billowing upwards and towards the ceiling in the basic shape of his coffin and honestly there was not a drop of bird shit on him. This for me was the most amazing thing as when I finally left the Wat I had shit down my back and in my hair, everywhere (a bit like walking down Silom Road).

To this day I question how an unembalmed corpse cannot decompose, as this may have been a wind up but couldn't understand the birds and the shit.

Asked a few Thais about this Wat and they automatically asked if I was lucky enough to see this dead monk. They believe it, have never seen it though and I to this day don't understand it.

Any of you guys and girls heard of this Wat in Mahachai, Sumut Prakarn.
