    1) Ian Carmichael




    2) Clive Dunn (this photo from 1973)




    3) Warren Mitchell/Alf Garnett (this photo from 1974)




    4) Jean Alexander/Hilda Ogden




    5) Reg Varney (will be 100 in not so many years!)



    6) Mollie Sugden (nearly 90)




    7) Mick McManus (in his eighties)

    Ooh, a chance to show off. Ian Carmichael made many 'comedy' films in the fifties but is probably best known for his portrayal of P.G. Woodhouse's Bertie Wooster, long before Fry and Laurie even thought about it.

    Mick McManus was a wrestler. I used to watch him on the box on Saturdays. He played a bit dirty and got the crowd going.

    How do you know if someone you thought had died 20 years ago is still alive? Do you google everyone you think is dead to find out if they really are?
