I like the Thai Ridgebacks, not sure I'd trust them around kids though.

my rhodesian ridgy was one of the nicest dogs i have ever owned, beautiful temperment and a great guard dog, never bit anyone but certainly stopped em in their tracks..RIP 'GRETAL' a great friend for 13 years
Yep I have always loved the Rhodesian Ridgebacks as well, just not sure how available they are here. Not that I'm getting a dog anytime soon anyway.
^ That's a good lookin' doggie.

My first attempt at a picture hope it works!!
My two Irish pedigree Chihuahuas, mad as a box of Frogs, but couldn't do without them now.
Good Luck

I prefer black dogs.
Looks like they have been cross bred with cats. Sorry Mara, they are too gay.
Anyway, forget the dopey dogs, I would like to get some Bengal cats.
A scratch from one of these could probably take Kingwilly's whole leg off.
If there are ever any Rhodesian Ridgeback puppys going I would love one!

My Chi's are well looked after, properly inoculated, do not roam the streets and do not procreate with other unwanted/or uncared for dogs.
Their pups will similarly be treated and will only be passed on to other dog loving families that will treat them in the same manner, or as far as I can tell, and will certainly not be given as a handbag fashion accessory ( someone has already requested this, you really don't want to hear the response ).
Some time in the future I may have them neutered, but not right now.
Good Luck

Sorry, it was meant as a joke (as I'm always going on about it)
My personal view is that dogs shouldn't be bred while there are strays and abandoned dogs seeking homes, though. I don't know the figures of how many homeless dogs are euthanised every year in UK, but I think while that is the situation more shouldn't be added to the canine population. Of course you would look after your pups and make sure they got good homes. I'm not questioning that. But those dog loving families could get dogs from shelters (purebreds, even) like the RSPCA and help solve the problem, couldn't they? And they might be more inclined to do just that if they couldn't just buy or get the pups from you. Sorry, just my take on it.
^Which reminds me, where's Obama's dog for the kids?
Sorry, it obviously went over my head, which of course isn't too difficult.
I don't necessarily disagree, but my choices are limited to those that are suitable for a young child and not wanting a large dog. I would half suggest that you don't get many small dogs at the rescue's, but this is unresearched by me.
Otherwise your points are very valid and I agree with them, within certain constraints.
Good luck

Dunno. They never got back to us. Don't think she was hypo-allergenic (!) enough. Never mind, she was rehomed, anyway.Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon

yep vouch here , had them when growin up and even little sis (4yrs) and brothr (6) would go in and play with the pups no problem, when mum had thought time up she would quietly go over and retireive fore said puppy from anoying child (descretely) and return to kennel. Top gaurd dog aswell.

I'd trust them more than some of these TEFL'ers.Originally Posted by bkkmadness
