The catch 22 with good Thai folk
I rang my chauffeur, Kob, this morning and he turned up without his orange vest in a matter of seconds on a nice new Honda Wave, a black one.
Anyway, Kob is one of those rare decent Thai's who is well versed in English (especially for a moto taxi driver) and is loyal and won't rip you off.
I choose him for this reason and also because he will take me to Tesco Lotus and back for 50 baht and he will wait for me/join me - whatever.
The other moto taxi's charge 30 baht each way, but here's the thing...
BECAUSE Kob is decent and loyal and cheap, I tip him anyway so I end up paying more than I would if I was using a regular moto taxi so what's the fucking point?
Thailand has so many lazy, crappy people out to rip you off that when you meet one that is good you feel inclined to tip them for giving you something out of the goodness of their heart!
Either way they win, the scheeming little wogs. :)
