    Not true, really.

And the US gets involved in foreign countries because of its own interests.

I would have to disagree just based on world census, USA is not a very popular country. Unless yours need to be bailed out of a mess. Then we are invited to the dance. After all its for Democracy! Right?

You're confusing dislike of the US government and it's policies (true), with dislike of US citizens (false).

    SR,
They both are intertwined, it is the fabric of America (Democracy). You dislike one you also attack the other. When one gestures towards USA - It is " You yanks .................. " or "Those bloody Amerkins...........", etc. Not "Your policies ............... "!
Try not to seperate the truth from reality! It's in you (hatred)! Big Time!
In time you will learn Americans are not all that bad. Just our sense of humor is a bit tangent!

    What a load of bollox!

So, according to your logic, when US citizens protest against US government policies, they are also showing their hatred for fellow Americans?

You better up your game if you want to conduct serious debates on this board.

    Take Iran for example
American policy was to keep a favorable Despot in power(the Shah of Iran)
All legitimate political opposition was not allowed. No opposing political parties!
There was no freedom of the press.Iran was not allowed to grow as a nation, remember the Persian people ,on the whole are pretty sophisticated people, the Farsi language is considered a poetic language by scholars.
The secret police"Savak" were trained by Isreali specialists
In short there was complete state control, sanctioned by the U.S

The ONLY place that the Shah or the Americans couldn't close down were ....you guessed it...The MOSQUES!

So where did legitimate political differences and dissent end up going?
The mosques..and with the help of some very disgruntled old Mullahs..many young men were indoctrinated with attitudes that were previously alien to them!
Eventually even the U.S could not prop up an illegitimate govt.for ever.

Conclusion..Forget about your knee jerk response,be a little more reflective, study history a little, and perhaps the world might become a little more understandable.
Remember FOX and CNN are not really news anymore!
Put down those flags everyone !!!
There are better ways to resolve conflicts

Ah, yes! This old chestnut. I've registered my disgust at the fuck-wits that think they can make rude comments to me when first met becasue I'm an American. From time-to-time some American or another has to whine about it on the forum.

I have become bored with it and the replies completely ignoring the issue such as this one:

Very few countries can project the kind of might the US can, In fact, NONE. That other countries in history have conducted much higher abuses when they had the wherewithal to put might in foreign countries is ignored, OK that was then this is now.

Not the issue, what the fuck has this to with me personally? US foreign policy doesn't excuse any fucking moron that thinks he can insult me when first met because I'm an "American." Any of you fucking foggy Islanders want to clean up your accent a bit and try introducing yourself as an "American" to all you meet for the next six months?

Let me work up a few hundred national insults. Serve up in bars when ever I meet some unwashed Frenchie or British/Spanish/French Colonist. Oh, give me time, forgive me, It will take me some time to dig up enough xenophobic bigotry to come up some real zinger insults. Let's share! trade with your buddies! We can then try 'em out, not just on 'Mericans, but ALL nations. NO NO good natured buddy-type jibes not needed! Real down and dirty insult and turn your fuckin back. (cue the beer bottle to your 'ead).

Some good natured, nationalistic shit-slinging is fun. Most of us Americans that have traveled have been subjected to the rudeness and asinine remarks for too long to see much generalizations and "You Yanks," "You Americans," etc as good natured anymore. There is just that extra element of venom in the shit we get thrown our way, up front and personal-like that you really have no desire to laugh it off or shield behind thick skin. You just say fuck it and punch the next mother-fucker.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty -- T. Jefferson
