Well done for keeping it together, and alive Butterfly. I know that it must have been a lot of regular and dedicated work.

Butterfly, I'm really glad to hear the good news. I hope you do keep him. Sleeping outside will be no problem. When I was first in Phuket, we found a kitten on the side of a busy road, took him home and he had a great life. He mooches off all the neighbours.
Here's why I thought of your thread - Just today, I saw a very tiny kitten here in Dubai. He's in the construction are of the airport. The engineers are feeding him and takin gcare of him, but it's not a good place for him.
He's about the same size as your kitten was when you found him and he has an eye infection. They asked me if I wanted ti bring him home, and at first, I thought no, but then an apartment is far better than a constuction site.
I'll be picking him up tomorrow sometime. My heart just can't say no. He'll be an indoor cat. What tips can you give me? Maybe NR will see this thread too.
Green on the way.
I just noticed the time. It's late over there.
For the eye infection, you can try a Terramycin ointment (any pharmacy). Apply around the eye a couple times a day. Kitties love fresh squid (take out the ink guts, chop up and freeze in little bags; use with bikkies at break and dinner). Litter box, water bowl, kitty movies on the telly and you're set. Get vaccines, too.

Anybody else here hate cats?
good on you for doing this, once it's grown up, you can release itOriginally Posted by natalie8
I am still feeding her with milk, she just loves it, tried the tuna for her, she likes it but not in the morning or night time, yeah picky, it's a lady. I also think she might have some Siamese cat in her as she likes to go crazy biting and scratching anything around her, jumping all around etc... typical Siamese cat behavior
Will need to go to a vet soon for the shots, total cost is about 1350 THB for 6 shots, that's not too bad
Is the ginger one the .5 due to its missing tail??Originally Posted by kingwilly
I've often seen mangled tails on cats in Thailand, but do they do it in Indo as well?
By the way, does anybody know why Thais mangle cats' tails? I've asked several times, and the best answer I've heard to date is that cats have no right to be as sleek and beautiful as they are. Only Buddha should be so perfect, so they mangle kittens' tails to make them 'imperfect'.Still a prick of a reason to mangle a cat's tail!!
^
They are born that way. Thais mangling tails is a myth.
^ you have to cut the end of the tail, but obviously not done here
so the ginger and black cat are have both been adopted. The ginger one now is a real teenage male, only comes home once a day to get feed and then pisses off all night, the other tends to hang around a lot more.
however, the small black one has made friends with an old black and white cat, i'm sure he is half blind because sometimes he will walk right past me not even noticing i'm there (as soon as he does he runs...)
anyway this black and white cat comes in to eat the food and will often sit just outside the 2nd floor balcony (usually 9 or 10 oclock at night, crying for the black cat to come out and play with him.
I couldnt get a pic of him yet so you'll have to make do with my shoddy impression of a drawing...

nope they all have that here. i dont notice it anymore.Originally Posted by JoGeAr

not my cat and orginally used to fight with mine, but now they've made friends and he comes in 3 times a day or so to eat their food if i'm not around.
Thanks, JG and Butterfly. Your advice and feedback are good. I'll take pics of him when I pick him up.
i,ll stick me hand up, though they do have their uses, only for a short time of the year when the mice/rats are breeding and running ammock,Originally Posted by Sir Burr

He's a babycakes. The owner left him tethered to an old car across the street. When said owner came home, and I asked him about the poor dog, he said it was vicious but could not keep him at his house as the place has "no pet" restrictions. FU, buddy. The dog is now at my place. Ugliest piece of sin ever (KW?), but gentle as a feather. Walked "Sarge" three times. Gave him pasta salmon supper and a few dog bones I had left. Waiting for the owner to come home so I can beat him up. Sarge is now on a blanket beside my glass door.
Nice, Jet.
nedwalk, I used to dislike cats due to bad experiences with them when I was a kid.
It was only when we found that kitten on the side of the road that I changed my mind. He ended up fnding himself a brother kitten and we kept both of them. They were outdoor cats or soi cats, but they always came around for food, sleep and wrestling with each other.
Best animals ever. I found a cat in Pakchong on the road and me and Mrs C took her home, little baby girl. We called her Sheila. My boss at the time asked why we called her that, "named her after you, coz' your Australian, and a fokin' pussy". Anyway the day she died (car on road to Khao Yai ran her over) Eric was born. Mrs C thinks Buddha involved thats why Eric has been with us 3 years.
^You cruel hearted bastard. I do agree, it looks a bit scrawny though
He was going to about post number 1 or 2. Changed his mind as we all predicted.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
