Just lost my best mate in Pattaya, only 36 and dead

A phone call you always dread, i received at about 8 o'clock this morning, that my best mate had been killed in the early hours of this morning, looks like no other vehicles were involved and he drove his motorbike into a lamp post, he had been drinking which is obviously the cause of what happened and what makes it harder to take as their is no-one to blame but himself. He was only 36 worked as an engineer just outside Pattaya and has 2 young kids and was a great guy, probably the funniest guy i've ever known and to go so young is such a waste. He was actually a BM here (http://teakdoor.com/members/list/) but only ever made a few posts.

RIP Mark, you will be greatly missed.

Part of me wants to cry, but the main part is angry as fcuk at him for the reason this has happened. It would probably make it a bit easier to take if there was someone else to blame for his death but he's done it to himself and at such a young age, i still can't get my head round it.

    Condolences, Buriram.

Sadly, I expect to lose a friend or acquaintance on a motorbike about once every 2 years. It doesn't make it any easier though. Condolences.

Bad news BB, sorry to hear it. I lost a good friend out here a few years ago, he was only 29. Time's the only healer.

One cannot feel sorry for him. He was stupid enough tp drive whilst drunk.
He is gone and now his family and friends have to live with the pain.......
    Too bad.

Let it be a lesson to us all.

What a shocker, tough all round on friends and family.

We lost our best friends recently from a bike accident in UK, utterly incomprehensible.

    Sorry BB.

And you wonder why people give you a hard time. Sheeesh.
If that is how you feel, it would have been more sensible to not post.

My condolences BB and to the family.

While i am not denying his stupidity, i just hope you never lose your best mate. And his 2 kids, aged 2 and 6 months will now be growing up without ever really knowing their father.
