Thread: Standing up to the cowards to not appear cowardly

Getting threatened with a team handed beating isn't unusual if you go looking for it - not that I was or ever would be mind you, just that I upset some street market vendor by stepping over his sheet of goods for sale on the pavement as I stepped out of a taxi - with my feet of course, how else? And there was no other way onto the pavement, as these 'stalls' were blocking the whole way all along.

He stood up very quickly, babbled on about being disrespectful because I was using my feet to step over his goods, and then told me that he and his two wanky looking accomplices would beat me up there and then.

By this time I had already walked into the nearest little shop and was unscrewing my bottle of root beer and swigging on it while this pony tailed moron barked his crap into my face.

"You're a big, brave man aren't you?" I told him in Thai "I bet girls are really impressed with you and you get lots of them don't you?" I said staring into his eyes. I wasn't really scared that much.

When he'd finished pointing and gesticulating, I asked him if he'd finished in Thai and then said "I'm really scared" also in Thai but in a sarcastic tone, deliberately. I then told him that I'd take him on one on one but he insisted that it had to be three of them VS. Me alone or it wouldn't be fair. - ("Wouldn't be fair?" I hear you say in disbelief)

I told him to fuck himself, pushed past him and walked off. I didn't look back.

As I was striding off, I did wonder, if he had called my bluff and taken me on, iI know for sure that it's Thai tradition (so I've heard) for every Thai male in the vicinity to join in if it's a farang who's on the recieving end. Which I do believe, from my own experiences and what I've seen.

Anyone with any experiences / stories to tell?
