Thread: Have Your Taste Buds Changed As You Have Gotten Older?

I have heard that your taste buds change every seven years. I did not experience any changes until a few years ago. I used to hate veggies, pork and especially rice and many other foods that I now eat regularly.

Never used to eat pineapple and some other fruits either.

I hated those noodle or rice "just add hot water" meals that come in a Styrofoam cup - now I love them.

Now I eat rice every day, love veggies, all fruits and spicy food. Never used to eat beans or chili either and now I love it.

With the incontrovertible TD evidence that taste buds do change over time I think its time the condom companies sat up and listened.

I am only ever able to find raspberry and strawberry or other suitably zesty and fresh fruity flavours.

How about some new lines such as 'broccoli and cheese' or 'haddock mornay' or 'brussel sprouts'?

Yes, I like chocolate now at times. But I crave green veg alot. And sometimes A&W Teenburgers.

^the cheese thing is funny with asians because even though they don't seem to like it they do like some things that are a bit similar; when I was travelling around Cambodia with the GF we visited her aunty in the moo bahn who made us a meal which included some fish which had been cooked and then deliberately ripened and fermented so that it smelled, not like nam pla, but much more like super strong pongy french cheese. It was one of the strangest things I have ever eaten, and not unpleasant, as it maybe sounds.

I've recently started liking mustard & ginger (not together), which are both things that I used to hate. I can even tolerate small amounts of mayo in sandwiches now & it used to make me nauseous.
