Is 3 years enough for Glitter ?

I must admit being pretty pissed off when I heard/read that he'd paid off the families to get off the rape charges - but they have found him guilty of a lesser crime and given him 3 years jail. It is a Vietnamese prison after all! not really a bed of roses I wouldn't think.

Som nam na. and good riddance I say.

Glitter jailed for child sex offences

Former British glam rocker Gary Glitter has been jailed by a Vietnamese court for three years for sex offences against two under-aged girls.
The disgraced 1970s pop star stood accused of molesting two local girls aged 11 and 12 last year at his rented seaside bungalow in the southern resort town of Vung Tau, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
Glitter, 61, the first foreigner to face a sex crimes trial in post-war Vietnam, had maintained his innocence since his arrest in November.

Prosecutors asked that Glitter be sentenced to up to four years in prison.

I suppose that after a short while, and further payments, he will be deported. The kids families seemed more interested in money than justice, but I suppose the damage was already done.

where will he go next for his kiddy fiddling exploits? TV?

The families were paid 73,000 baht.
I'd like to see them bleed him financially first and then literally.

My thoughts exactly - if this is the case, the parents were probably overjoyed by the outcome - first you sell you kid to a foreigner for more money than you could make from a VNese, then you get xxx times more compensation when you report him than a local would ever be able to pay.

Actually I am (if possible) more angry with the parents that with GG. GG is obviously a very sick man (and may be under the illusion that this kind of behaviour is OK), but the parents, who are supposed to be the protector of their children should be...... (over to you FF!)

Ah, hell, just got back from a 20k walk, man, too tired to think. We could just cut their throats; let bleed 'em out. Then the girls would be passed from one profiteer to another. No different for them really. When parents violate the most sacred of trusts what's fucker to do? When these girls grow up to moms will they remember this as a way to make a quick fortune? This attitude is one that indicates to me that this behavior does got punished so much by prison populations as it would in the west. If we start, now, killin' 'em all maybe we can eradicate this problem in two, three generations. Doubtful.
Fuckin' guy gets off and lives to practice this shit another day. the folks are thumbin' their stack of cash. Disgust and discouragment is all I can feel at the moment.

These girls ain't got a chance. They were born into slavery looked upon as livestock by their own parents. They are entirely too young to be anything other than what they were told to be.
Take the judge, the parents, Good ol' Gary Glitterfuck tie 'em up in a tote sack with a few rocks. Beat the fucking thing until your arms are too tired to move; toss 'em in the river. Then go out and find every other sick, sorry sonofabitch that thinks it's Ok to sell their pre-pubescent daughter's favors and give 'em the same treatment. Continue this until they're all fucking gone.
WS mentioned that a large majority of child abuse is frm somenone in the household. Prime example here. Fuck cultural differences or whatever. It is an abomination. Guess everybody's happy though. Gary got off, some cash was earned and the girls now have a career path to follow.
