I am nothing if not anal -- but not in a sexual kind of way.
And ... I'm a cheap bastard, notice the 5-year-old Dell monitor.

    How does yours differ.

PS currently this room has a ceiling fan, but no AC. Something will change before April.

Sadly, my mother died in 2003, thanks for askin' though.

Hanging frames around this house is a challenge that requires a drill, masonry bit, plastic plug and screw. All the walls here are rendered brick.

Much unlike the simple hammer and nail I was used to for so many years with studs and drywall, hanging anything here is much more difficult, including nuisance posters.

We'd love to see where your genius comes from, Noodles.

My genius come's naturally, i feel no need to use pieces of paper cheaply framed and hung on a wall to make me feel like i have achieved anything.

It was a simple enough question, half of which you successfully answered.

I meant no offence in my question and if you felt i offended you then for that i apologise.

    Noodles.

Fair enough, the focus is on the environment.

I've posted from Internet cafes, I've had computers in the kitchen, I've sought refuge from Thailand's heat and bugs. I've met TD posters that are far more prolific than I, who post from a knackered laptop in a monsoon ravaged hovel (name witheld, but you know who you are!)

Show us the environment in which you post. Easy to step back and take a snap.

I'd put my certificates on the wall too. However unlike Tex I don't possess the requisite tools/equipment. Or skill. I'd put them up crooked or something.

You can buy a laser level from Pantip plaza for around B400.

A simple snap-n-shoot camera too much to handle too, apparantly?
    I'd bet a cold

You've seen my launch pad so no need to post.

    Observations:

2 bottles of Leo. One appears empty and the other clad in a wetsuit. Picture was probably taken in the evening when we notice a marked decline in your ability to rationally communicate and lack of inhibition.

Looks to be a video camera to the right of the monitor. Wonder what that could be used for??

A fan under the desk? Ummmm...?

Clearly not an audiophile with the left and right speakers sitting a centimeter apart on top of the woofer. Must be a Country Music fan.

    All adds up!!
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

I have seen your set-up Norty, much nicer than mine. Do you mind if I share my recollection?

By the way. I have no camera. The fan under the desk is unused as a heater would be more appropriate at the moment. Can't listen to music and post at the same time. It distracts me -- chalk it up to too many years in a deathly quiet newsroom.

A complete mess with tacky cheap furniture, I'm just waiting for it to fall apart so that I can put my genius for carpentry to good use and build a new desk.

Share away. Don't mention the bit where none of my pictures are hung on the wall but rather propped against the wall.

Looks fantastic to me. All very functional, everything within arms reach and you obviously actually read!

You must be single though or your well thought out piling system would be subject to daily movement by an over zealous lady neat freak.

Nice set-up Nick, comfy chair is key! I have a very fat ass and mine is due for replacement.
The telephone tells me you have a decent connection. Wish I could claim that. Tried to scan your porn collection with nary a clue. I trust it's solid.

Lots of books. I would have figured as much.

    ***

Norton has a really smooth set-up with his computer behind a 4-foot wall in a bedroom (not sure which one)

The bedroom has a sliding door to the patio where music is heard nicely, while not overbearing inside. A very nice layout. (Similar to the setup I had in Japan, problem is, too many guests would pop in while I was doing research (eh, eh) had to move the naughty machine.

Norty's posts are keen as well.
