we say that we are

"taking a shit or taking a dump"

we can also say

"having a shit or having a dump"

yet we only ever say

"having a poo"

not

"taking a poo"

Why is that then.

Why do we use taking. It's not as if it is being moved anywhere other than out of our bowels.
