Got a call tonight from a well-connected farang friend. The MIB have arrested a Thai for burglary in HH. His house is full of laptops, big screen tv's etc. The MIB have no idea what belongs to whom, so it's a case of turning up at the station & claiming something if you recognise it.

I have no idea if this is the guy that burgled me. I'm going tomorrow morning. I'm actually not that bothered about my computer now (although I'll happily reclaim it if it's there), what I really want is the jewellery belonging to my loved ones.

So, if this is the guy - what are the chances the jewellery will still be there?

You cannot walk around your house and immediately spot everything that is missing.
Just be sensible and claim anything that is yours plus a few common items.

You can't claim the Ferrari and say 'Oh yeah, I didn't notice it was missing' but you can with a food mixer, camera etc, etc

See if you can offer the thief, or the police, some kind of reward for the return of the items you want back - even if he didn't steal them, he might know who did & where they are now.
