    When you're gone

When you die, what will become of your body?

Would you prefer to be cremated, buried or ground up and used as fertilizer in a garden?

I've given this some thought and have instructed my wife to donate my corpse to a medical school. When they're finished slicing and dicing me, I wish to have the pieces cremated and dumped in the ocean.

    How about you?

Cotton shroud, cardboard coffin, buried under a tree (so I'm food) and a bloody huge rock party for all my friends to say goodbye.

^^^ Texpat, you should specify what kind of research or your head could end up as a carving platter for plastic surgery students.

I want to be cremated, but they can't even get that right here in Canada (oops, wrong ashes), but I don't want to be buried here coz they pump you full of formaldehyde so what good is that to the earth? Hmmm, kosher burial mebbe?

Ya, cremated, ashes spread in five places in five countries by an old friend. I thought this up first and then somebody stole my idea and made a movie out of it.

As for my estate, some to the family kids, most to my alma mater, the poorest department on campus, so that nonconformist writers can visit Asia without being fettered by fekin overseas sister school study demands. It's cool; I get to make all the scholarship requirements. hehehe That dispenses with all the nerd-types.

Same as last time for me - stake through the heart and a nice nap until some idiot pulls it out.

It seems that its all very wholesome to want to become plant food but I suspect you would be ostracised if you wanted to cut out the middle man and become animal food.

There was a story in the paper about an old man whose dog ate him after he died and before his remaining remains were discovered by visitors 2 weeks later. Not sure if they buried what was left.

I would like to be eaten, but not by a dog. I dont like the idea of being masticated by a mastiff or shredded by a shark. I would prefer to be eaten slowly and swallowed whole so I would like to be eaten by a burmese reticulated python.

And I don't want it done to the 3rd movement from Chopin's 'Sonata for piano No. 2 in B flat minor'. I would prefer 'In The Mood' by Glen Miller

    ^ I like that song.

Marmers, they had a farang body in the cold room for a few years somewhere in Thailand. Guess it doesn't matter, but nice to have things in order before you go.

I always figured that a funeral was really for the people left alive, not the dearly departed.

And, as such, I have no desire or instructions as to what should happen to my body, rather the people left around me can do what ever they wish that will give them the most comfort.

Either religion has got it all wrong, and then it doesnt really matter, or religion is correct and which case I'll be in heaven with God or the 72 virgins or whateva .... and it really doesnt matter!

I've always thought that big fancy tombs, mausoleums and stuff are just ridiculous.

Just burn me and bury my ashes under a nice tree. If thats too much hassle, chuck 'em in the sea.

All i want after i'm dead is a good piss up.

I would like to be cremated and the ashes scattered at a place where horses graze, close to some trees. There would be a huge party, for all my dear friends, and my extended families. People would come and drink and the sound of their laughter would drift out over my gardens...... and I would be at peace.

I want to be cremated and my ashes tossed to the winds above Hade Edge in the pennines.

I want November Rain (guns n Roses) playing upon arrival, and once im sent to roast, Who Wants To Live Forever (Queen) on the way out, followed by one hell of a piss up where you cant leave until my entire CD collection has been played.

How can you get a healthy body from someone who is dead - to my way of thinking if you are dead you are at least a bit poorly !

A few years ago a dear friend of mine died - we were working on a copper mine in Peru - His will specified exactly how he wanted to be disposed of.
    Cremation
Ashes to be put into a hydrogen Met Balloon
2 oz Blasting charge with a 1 min delay ( He ran the blasting operations there) attached
Released from the mine site - way up in the Andes -with the Tannoy system blasting out Kenny Rogers " lets go out like a band of heroes?"

open bar at the club afterwards !

Thats the way for me !!
