If You Were Going To Fake Your Own Death How You do It?

I decided to start this thread because I read the other thread "Could you fake your own death?" wrong.

I read it without wearing my reading glasses!

I posted how a person could do it and then had to delete it.

I will share my post again later.

Good old Reggie, but it doesn't work without a body. Tides and currents are known, making it routine to estimate where an unweighted body should re/surface. If it doesn't appear someone will want to know why.

Better is to change your identity and simply disappear, passing the problem of what happened to you or where you are if still alive to the cause of your disappearance (wife/girlfriend/boss/business partner/mob/authorities) to assume as they wish.

A successful disappearance, depending on how you quantify success, takes a ton of planning, ideally money but most important discipline...not one-tenth as easy as fiction writers make out but easier than dying.

    Any PTs out there?

Doesn't work in Australia due to bodies being eaten by sharks.

Cronulla beach was closed yesterday due to 4 hammerheads hanging round the break where the surfers surf.

The prime minister Harold Holt went for a swim in 1967 and was never seen again.

The verdict was that he was carried away by heavy surf.

There were some rumours of suicide and of faked death due to wanting to run away with his bit on the side.

I prefer the conspiracy theory involving abduction by the chinese in a midget submarine.

Anyway - no body was ever recovered.

Melbourne city council named a swimming pool in his memory. Not sure if they were trying to be funny but I like their style

Lost at sea. Hire a friendly Cambodian fisherman to rendezvous with and slip you over the border by sea, hire the boat from Ko Chang. Leave the boat floating at sea.

Pay someone from the Pattaya news to write a story about my leap from a high floor of an apartment block. This to be accompanied by some photographs taken at a butchers shop.

    Everyone trusts the Pattaya News

Purchase a roll of duct tape and a large tarp at the store. Remove the tarp from the packaging and keep the empty package. Then remove most of the duct tape from the cardboard roll. Dispose of the tarp and the duct tape that you pulled off in a dumpster miles from your home. This needs to be done months before you "die", so no one remembers you buying any of the items. You do not want to be linked to the crime.

You need to get a passport in another peron's name. This is really not hard to do at all. You will need it to escape the country undetected!

Save four pints of your own blood. This takes some time because you can only safely "donate" one pint a month. But you can get by with two a month. Store the blood in the fridge until you are ready to "die".
Wear two pairs of rubber gloves. There have been many instances where finger prints were left through the gloves when a suspect wore only one pair.

Once you have the blood saved up, take it to your bedroom. Pull a few clumps of hair out of your head and place it on the pillow. Then empty two pints of blood onto the pillow and bed. Make sure you have a "splatter effect" so it looks like you were bludgeoned to death. Then trail one pint of blood to the bathroom and to the tub. Pour another pint of blood in the bathroom and in the tub. Allow some to go down the drain. Remove the rest of the duct tape from the roll and stick some pieces of tape on the edge of the vanity. Leave the empty duct tape roll on the bathroom floor. Put the tarp wrapper in the trash can, so it can be discovered later. Have your wife drive you somewhere and then flee the country. She needs to put the blood bags and rubber gloves in a plastic trash bag and throw it in a dumpster in another city. Or you can take that evidence with you to where you are going to be hiding. The only problem with that is you might get searched when leaving the country and these items would certainly casue a problem with airport security.

She can join you in a few years after she sells the house and relocates to another city in your home country. She could make a few moves, so the authorities lose track of her.

It will look like you were beat to death, dragged to the tub, wrapped and duct taped in a tarp and removed from the crime scene.

The wife collects the insurance and sends you cash in a manilla envelope with no return address. No Western Union!! use the money that is sent to live and pay off local authories that might harass you for having entered their country illegally.

The problem with this is that most people can't keep their mouths when they commit a crime. They always tell at least one person. Also would your wife want you after she gets a couple of mil from the insurance company?

Do not use pizza sauce as seen below. The coppers will never buy it!!!

Could do, sounds simple enough, but a meticulously planned and executed fake death or suicide in a way that leaves your remains either unidentifiable or undiscovered, is only the relatively easy part two of a staged disappearance. Part one of course is to form a new identity beforehand, and one that will withstand scrutiny with powerful backdropping, and woe betide he who isn't of the mettle for part three, the most severe, most difficult and intensely painful act of complete detachment from their former life.

To stay on topic we can assume you have successfully staged an accident or suicide, but the death bit is actually so much of an obstacle that you would stand a better chance to accomplish part three, living your new life, after a straightforward disappearance and without the complication of pretending to leave behind a body that nobody can find or identify. Each scenario has people looking for a body, but a properly planned disappearance opens a whole new spectrum because one day in a routine perhaps humdrum life, with no sign or warning, you would simply cease to exist.

Big questions though, who are you and why do you want or need to disappear? Who or what is motivating a perfectly ordinary, rational person brought up with strong concepts of right and wrong to take this radical step into a new life? The reasons are critical, you know better than anyone why you can no longer live in the life you were dealt, and though this can be resolved by killing yourself that defeats the object of not dying.

It's beyond the scope of this topic, which would have opened up several related issues by addressing what happens before and after that fake death, rather than the one fanciful part of a disappearance act that would not be considered by anyone with the street wisdom and a serious intent to accomplish a successful disappearance.

Still, natural and man made disasters usually afford a good opportunity to vanish into if you happen to be in the neighbourhood, though of course this means you had at least the skeleton of your new identity already prepared, and enough of it to confidently use the event as your catalyst. Difficult coincidence in real life.

More likely though, is that your new identity is constructed and ready to be tested, with you actively on travels to get to know your new persona in an environment where clashes between the two identities are unlikely to develop into serious issues. Now if a natural disaster occurs, you may consider using it to vanish into, and if it doesn't you don't really care. This assumes at least partial detachment already from your present life, financial independence to maintain at least a modest travel lifestyle for perhaps a couple of years, and of course a structured ID ready to use, with the mindset that if a suitable disaster occurs you will at least remotely consider mucking in, and if it doesn't you have lost nothing and will maintain and perhaps strengthen your new ID even further for a time and conditions of your choosing.

These are two of several unlikely reasons to hope for a disaster that you can use to disappear into. More likely is that when disaster strikes, others will be taking an interest in the afforded opportunities not to join the dead/missing list but to remove one person from that list, in the form of rebirth.
