Thread: Little varmits in me shoes!

As we all know, in Thailand it's not polite to bring your shoes inside the house. So, we leave our shoes outside on the front porch.

The problem I got is, in the wee hours of the mornin', when I head out for the days hunt, I get a big surprise when I stick me foot in my shoes.

This week alone I have found a nasty looking white'ish yellow looking spider, two toads, and a damn mouse.

I suppose it's the cool weather and them wanting to stay warm? Or, is one of you bastards running a short time room out of me shoe!!!!

You're lucky you are not in Australia. Funnel Web spiders like sleeping in shoes, left outside.

^I will be in Aussie land in January. I was there for 3 months in 2006. Never left me clogs outside though.

Always check that there is nothing in your shoes, before putting them on. A scorpion in there might make for a bad day.

If you always wear flip-flops (like I do), you never have this problem.

^ I do wear flip flops when I am not on duty. But when I am out on patrol, I try to dress the part.

I keep my shoes inside the alcove of the front door, nice shoe rack keeps them tidy.

but i guess that's supposing you have a house/apartment of more than one room eh?

The whitish yellow one is probably a Crab Spider - nasty looking bastards but harmless - toads and mice are just enjoying the hospitality of a good safe nights sleep !

Not come across scorpions yet out here but have lump and red mark on my fingertip when I picked up a spanner in Saudi 11 years ago!- and there was a little bastard underneath. Antihistamine or something - for 2 days in hospital - Dont like tham !

So the mouse was in his shoe after he put it on.

Used to have lots of toads in my motor bikeboots. They must have taken a running jump to get in as well.

I miss the sounds of the toads in my old garden.
