Famous last words, why would we allow youtube to slow down our server response times? Might aswell find a cheap server to stick TeakDoor on if we weren't worried about server times.

As for the issues you are having, why not look into your browser settings and windows media player settings, look for the bit that says open window media files automatically, uncheck that box, it maybe listed as wmv files.

Tchiowa, its time to visit Subway or similar and buy a beef sandwich for DD.

sorry DD, but I am having better repo results for sandwich related posts than I ever got for CMN dwarf posts

Sure it's not because of my knowledge in these subjects but I have never had a problem with DDs posts. Couldn't tell anyone why though. I use FF, Media Player and iTunes.

Crashing like a bitch tonight on DD's embedded video thread on funny pics2 or whatever. I've done all the fixes, and still can't fix this.

I am in VERY high tech Telecoms biz. Browser and IT issues are non-existent for me on any other site.

Not sure whether to drive to Pattaya and take a header off a high condo or walk into the ocean here in Phuket.

    Whaddya suggest guys?

^Ok, I'll switch to another laptop for a few days. I've got some VPNs and other issues going on this power laptop. I'll let you know.

I had this problem about a year ago and it drove me mad.
I never could play any of DD's vids so I installed a new codec and then I couldn't stop them playing.
Problem is I can't remember now how I fixed it.
Have you installed any new players recently ?

^No, I have a few players on this laptop, but this is my business laptop. I have another personal laptop playing tunes and things without all the VPNs and Spyware, etc., so I'll connect with that for a few days and see what happens. I have WEP secured Wifi, maybe WPA, have to check. Anyway don't see any access issues. Gotta be a browser or firewall settings issue, or conflict with one of my VPNs maybe.

I use 3 different browsers on 2 pcs, ones linnux ones windows, this firefox is the latest and untouched, the other is an older version but has been changed about, on firefox ie and opera I don't get any problems on either pc, when the browser does go a bit wobbly I edit the thread and maybe take out a video or 2, the easiest browser to crash seems to be ie, I haven't found a thread yet that will crash it though.

^Well, this is a strange puzzle for sure. We've had several members complain about it, maybe they're running also business VPNs, Firewalls or Antivirus. Don't know. I'll test it clean on my personal machine from tomorrow.

^^^^All I can think it is is one of your players is set so that it opens multi media automatically, you hit a page with a few vids on and it tries to open them at the same time you will probably crash your browser.

^Yeah, I've gone through and checked all the browser settings, and everything's ok. I have to think it's a conflict with some other program or firewall setting. I'll narrow it down and report back.

I just thought of a way to check, reboot your pc, log on to td, open task manager, then goto a thread with videos on, see what happens in your task manager.

Yup, looks like a computer specific issue, I have no probs with your video threads on my personal notebook.
