Which poster would you hate to sit next to all the way to Penang?

Torbek just gave me the idea for an entertaining thread.

Now I had said that I wouldn't like to sit next to Bangersphil because the thought of looking down his nose at my brothel creepers or listening to his never ending information about the best places to buy a 4,000 baht tie or how disgusting the poor are and how they should be made to stay out of the public eye, would have me getting off before Cha-Am.

But giving the idea a little more thought I'm sure I couldn't think of a worse co-pilot to Malaysia than the heavy-weight Bore champion himself, Diaw!
He's not funny, he's not the slightest bit interesting, he thinks he's Christian one minute and god's gift to bargirls the next, he tells you he's intelligent and yet he was taken for a ride by a family of Issan farmers. I swear.....it would get ugly!!

    Who's yours?

Oh and you can only choose me three times then it defaults to harry!

it has to be the cap, he worries me every time he grabs that strap thingy above the window with fear in his eyes when I am driving, it's like can he see something I cant? I think phil would be ok, although obviously he would look down on me with my fake t shirt and shorts and flip flops and bum bag, but deep down I feel sure that he would be a nice chap to travel with, maybe have to pepper spray him a few times to earn his respect and that

no disrespect intended but i'd rather hang myself than spend 23 hours on a bus with either Captin Sensible or AO for that matter. CS' endless stories about his current escapades in Thailand or AO's endless Thailand trivia would be enough to drive me up the wall.

    Kerux.

    Nuff said.

(I would have said Smeg but I think I would have wrung his throat before we got to Petchburi, so I figured that wouldn't count...)

I'd like to sit across the aisle from Mrs Q.
That would be the makings of a small riot.

You'll all be sitting together; with Harry sitting in the middle. And I don't know where you'll be going, but according to Harry, the trip shouldn't take more than 23 hours...

...and are you going to be the pilot Alex??
It does sound like an airline, but I'll have you know that Nakornchai Air is only the finest aircon VIP coach company in Thailand...

...multiple drivers on all routes, immaculately clean and mechanically maintained coaches, friendly 'road hostesses', serving the finest snackysnacks....

I don't see you as the 'sit still-relaxo' type of guy. I'd be flicking popcorn at you after about an hour.

It would have to be heng, he 'd be going on about the exciting developments in the world of toothpicks and how his shares in RTZ were doing. But then he wouldn't be seen dead on a train anyway.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Very good DD.

I'm pretty good at switching off so I wouldn't be too bothered. When bored with someone I just adopt a neutral smile and although I look as if I'm listening I'm really thinking about clowns.

I been caught a couple of times on a bus by some idiot farangs who thought that just because we both hailed from west of where we were, we somehow had a connection with each other. Always have a book is my advice - if reading it doesn't discourage them, whack them around the head with it.

Re. poolie's question: I can't name names, well obviously you know who. But I'd hate someone who started rabbiting on about politics - or cars - or their health - or money - or their bedtime habits - or their family - or their home - or where they've been - or where they're going - or their job....I'd much rather the conversation was along the lines of, 'There's a tree......Gone now......Another one's coming up......Here it is......'

Diaw would be alright - I get the feeling that you could start him off on physics equations and then just sit back for 23 hours with a neutral smile on your face happily thinking about clowns.

I used to work with a super intelligent bloke - He had a doctorate in something unpronounceable and he could happily spend the afternoon drawing up formulas which looked like someone had upset a can of alphabetti-spaghetti. Unfortunately, if you rang the office the conversation invariably followed this pattern:

    Him: Hello, Roger speaking.

Me: Hi Roger. It's danbo. Is Stuart there?

    Him: Yes he is.

    He'd then hang up.

We had him put to sleep in the end.....It was for the best.
