I suspected as such, which is why I got back on the beer last night. Better safe than sorry.


Though those Leo were absolutely putrid (surprisingly so), wanted to quit after 2, but luckily my alcoholism kicked in and I got through them.

Weirdo watching! it’s been many years since I was hanging out around the Sukumvit sois but every now and then used to go to see one of my (more) delinquent mates sat on his regular stool at BigDog bar.. we played a numbers game that went something like this- sit and watch people and groups going into Nana and point them out, they have to fit into a pre-agreed stereotype in numbers: 1 = one old pesty farang on his way home- bonus point if he’s got a shopping bag, 2 = two young backpackers in some kind of khao san uniform, bonus point for tiedie pants, 3 = three Japanese/Korean businessmen in suits, 4 = English football fans at least 2 of are in team jerseys. Whoever first spots them calls it to claim them, then gets agreement on the fit to type (here some free license given..), now later if everyone from the group comes out with at least one bar girl in tow then you win a matching number of free drinks. Cue many hours of pissed up fun, argument and more than occasional awkwardness or trouble when cheering on and hi-five-ing total strangers as they are scuttling out of the plaza..

Is the Bus Stop still going - used to inhale a fish and chips in there on the odd occasion - usually about 3 pm in a lame attempt to dissuade myself i didn't need to get my head down for a couple of hours before the 5pm back on it bell ringing sessions.

Ten days in now because of my early start. I was sleeping ok, even if it’s only 6-7 hours. In bed at normal time, instead of crashing on the sofa and waking up at daft o’clock with a stiff neck.
Last night, in bed by 11pm, fooled around a bit and talked about weight gain/loss for about an hour.

woke up at 9am feeling absolute shite, minus the hangover.

Whats the point if nothing changes? Being sober by choice is very boring.

I'm starting Dry July again today, until Friday evening.

Going out to restaurants a couple of times over the weekend. Just feels a bit odd to not order any alcohol.

only 23 days to go !

Off it for three days now, sleeping better.

I'm still good, however, I'm having a 3 day holiday coming up.

Tues = Cricket
Wed = Rugby League
Thur = Cricket

Fri and the rest of the month = on the Wagon

On the theme of dry, I bought a few bottles of muscadet for this week.

So many weak willed westerners. Jeff will be turning in his swivel chair.

Got a few days off, it's hot and the bbq is getting fired up.

I fear I may fall off the wagon this evening.

The big decision is....What will the grog be??

Any suggestions ?

If I was in the UK right now, can't think of anything better than getting into a gallon of scrumpy. Add a splash of lemonade to liven it if it's going on all night.
