Is corn syrup easy to find here?

Don't think I've ever seen corn syrup anywhere, but I need a bottle to make some fake blood for a photo shoot and it has to be 100% convincing.

Now is it something I can find in Lotus/Carrefour or would I need to search Foodland/Villa - or does it not exist here like self raising flour doesn't exist?

    Use water-soluble hair gel instead.

    Cheap 'N' Easy Blood

    • Plain Flour
    • Water
    • Red Food Coloring
    • 1 tsp. of Coffee
Boil the water on the stove, then sieve in the flour, making sure you get ALL of the lumps out. The quantity of ingredients aren't important, it just depends on how much you want. Once you have the flour mixed nicely into the water it should look nice and thick. Next, add the red food coloring.
You will notice that it's a ghastly, bright red colour but don't worry this is why we add the coffee. It is important that when you add the coffee to make sure the mixture is hot, otherwise it wont dissolve, but up until adding the coffee can be done in a ordinary mixing jug or pan.

Could actually get some syringed from a local clinic but would they do it without good reason?

Also considered buying some from a hospital but there's dying people who need it more than me.

Then there's pigs blood from the market, but that will be watery and stinky. We will use a real pigs heart, to get a realistic one made in latex would cost thousands of baht and have to be imported from Pinewood Studios or Los Angeles... And it still wouldn't look perfect, it wouldn't have the shiny yellow fat on the sides.

So real pigs heart it is soaked in fake blood.

Nope. Sure he means down there in Bangkok. In other words, if Vientiane has it then Bangkok surely will. Have you tried Villa Market?

Just a bump to this thread. Thais use glucose syrup over corn syrup. 500 gram is 30 baht. Usually found in any shop that sells cake making ingredients.
