Food - both in terms of Supermarkets and restaurant choice is way below quality & variety that you get in Thailand.

It's a lot more dangerous - both in terms of random acts of violence, kidnappings and the shit that can rain down on you if you piss off the wrong woman and she decides to accuse you of something to the polics.

None of that sounds like where I live.

It's very hot for about four and half months.

For three of them I'm not there.

From (more or less) the end of October until the end of March it is perfect...cool with cloudless skies.

The second part is certainly not where I've visited.

I wonder where pedro experienced this?

Manila is hard work though ime, and it's the food that would be a deal breaker for me.

Here's a video of a walk around the block where I live.

I didn't really film it to highlight BGC, I was just testing out a new camera stabiliser, but you will get the gist.

This is just a very small part of BGC, but as you will see there's plenty of good restaurants and bars.
I filmed a bit early to get the crowds out eating and drinking alfresco, but an hour later it will get crowded.
And they don't all just serve balut and lechon!

But how much does it cost at these BGC places ? Is there a middle class economy ? For example, can a modestly wealthy foreigner buy income real estate there ? or is that all controlled by the big shot 5 million + net worth ppl ?
