Internet can be a source of really good information but it's hidden amongst a whole load of crap. It's not just opinion stuff, there are all sorts of errors from maths equations, code snippets to insect identification. You need to cross check between 4 or 5 sites and even then with no certainty.

The click bait news and annoying ads that fill the screen is cooking shite too.

indeed, and when you surf for tech stuff, it doesn't help with the hundreds of blogs written by clueless Indians (like harry) trying to sound smart with buzz words, but are light on actual content or insight, and full of hot air over a minor piece of technology they think is important but nobody cares about because it doesn't produce anything (like an Indian worker)
