agree, thought the role was perfectly fit for him

how can you hate Steve Martin???

a bit old comedy now, but great in the 80s and 90s style of humor, he was great as the dentist in that silly comedy

    same same Robin Williams, awesome!!!

now for the wankers, did anyone forgot "Tom Cruise" and all his silly wives "Nicole Kidman" and that bitch who is fucking that big black producer

I will not go see anything with Vin Diesel anymore. He's a one-note "actor".

Really, anyone who just plays a the same slightly phony version of themselves in every movie is unwatchable at this point.

Keanu Reeves is another, even though I did like The Matrix and Speed. These Wick movies are awful, though.

Sarah Silverman is probably the un-funniest comedienne out there. I don't get the appeal, she comes off as smarmy and not clever. Poor comedic timing too.

Most actors are adequate for the roles they've taken on, even the one note actors. Should we start a separate thread about current great actors?

My first choice would be Benedict Cumberpatch, even the schlocky stuff like Dr. Strange is alright. I didn't like his casting in that Star Trek movie, though.

Agree with TC on this one, Although special mentions must go to Sondra locke (RIP) who has to be up there with worst actors. Brian brown always plays Brian brown. Rebel Wilson plus many others.
Fortunately, I see very little of them as I only have one channel and most of those would be considered "of unsuitable moral character" on the Christian TV channel.

Forgot about him. The most nauseating actor I have seen. He should make a movie with Sondra Locke his ability is about as good as hers is currently.

She has faded, but when she started out she was cutting edge sacreligious, brazenly making fun of Jesus, and pulled no punches on many topics. Her early routines were shocking, and thus funny.
This vid, although a political production, is a sequel of sorts to her having an affair with Jeusus on her first show. Even Hugh will enjoy this

As I said, she's faded. You have to be familiar with her early routines to get her properly now.
Can you imagine someone creating a sitcom 20 years ago wherein she fucks Jesus in a modern New York setting?

^I think that’s called satirical sketchers, not acting. I could accuse Cumbersnatch of the same, with his DR Who scarf in every sketch he’s played.

The problem seems to also have a root in looks. Most studios seem to select actors on looks and them uses editorial license to get around their talent failings.

The bit i don't get is the huges sums that studios invest in animated films using "Famous" actors to voice over, most of the animated films themselves are invariable insipid Mercan shite with threadbare scripts which have to tread the line the PC brigade set - they pay these wankers a fortune just for a voice over so they can get them interviewed before release to discuss how challenging the making of the "film" was and how brilliant their fellow actor were - christ I just hit another pet hate - gushing actors.....

For some reason, I REALLY hated her in Sophie's Choice. Otherwise, doesn't bother me much. More awards than almost any other actor or actress....FWIW.

the 'famous' actors promote the films, which creates interest and ensures publicity...and that often increases revenue...which justifies their salaries.
    it's not complicated.
