No I didn’t! It just went in the pot. If it cooked as long as that corned beef has to cook, it would be mush.

Cheers Missy. I'm sure you have it all worked out.
Happy St Patricks day to you and all. Nothing like corned beef and cabbage.

Man it has been a while since I had pigs in a blanket as well. Mom used to make it. I don't know the origins of the dish but it sure was superb.

Pigs knuckles, hell. I'm pigeon toed.

Damn, put some cheese on it. A bit of catsup and mustard, tomato, lettuce and onion. Slap it on a bun with a few chips and you have the All American dinner.
    Cheers.

Obviously you are not an American. No one that I know of in the US will ever do any of the above .
What is pictured in Hypercube's post is what we call Corned beef hash and is a breakfast mainstay, and my favorite breakfast, served with home fries and my preference. some tabasco sauce and two eggs sunny side up.
Our traditional St Patty's dinner (ex wife is an O'keefe and daughter half irish) consists of Corned beef boiled with potatoes and cabbage, and my preference spicy mustard. and of course some side dishes.
Makes my mouth water just thinking of it.

I'm not talking about politics, and I don't want to change your style, but there is a warm wind blowing the stars around and I'd be lying if I didn't want a taste tonight.

We'll see what miss fish is brewing.

    love to all...dan.

Wow!!! Nobody in Ireland actually eats corned beef and cabbage but that looks totally delicious!!! The traditional Irish dish is hairy bacon, spuds, and cabbage. Corned beef and cabbage on Paddy's Day is an American innovation and as a paddy brought up on fatty bacon and cabbage I can state that in this case the yanks have it absolutely right!!!!

Yep - Happy St. Patrick's day to one and all.

My family history is from Ireland, but it seems on the 'wrong side'. Here's a Wiki extract from my namesake - Simon Luttrell:

"He was the second son of Henry Luttrell, of Luttrellstown (whose family had held Luttrellstown since the land there had been granted to Sir Geoffrey de Luterel in about 1210 by King John of England) .... He was murdered when his sedan chair was attacked in Dublin in 1717."

Some shonky dude who looks like Elliott Gould ?

Or an anemic Pom with milky white legs.

I had an Irish based holiday today.

Went for a drive ... pissed down all day.

I used to live in Ireland ... Galway to be precise.

That's one thing the Irish are good at is history and tarmacking driveways

Our family history got traced back to King Kavanagh, appears I have the royal blood when last night's Guinness has been expelled.
