No problem he stuck it back together and included it into his Buddhist shrine in remembrance.

He dips his finger in it every day and licks it. The buzz is amazing he claims.

In reality you have to acknowledge the infamous "they" did not start eating bugs because they are so delicious, "protein" just protein. Eaten for sustenance.

Jeff, in all his wisdom , has seen fit to send me a red for the above post. Trouble is, his comment doesn't seem to make sense in light of my post.

Yeah, can't be Baygon tho as it'd taint the flavour so they must be using some cheap stuff without any smell.

And the reality is there's not much protein in each insect so you'd need to eat a lot of insects to get sufficient protein in your diet.

Westerners generally eat far too much protein these days. Meat used to be a luxury to be had on special occasions.

A handful of grass hoppers per day is enough with an otherwise balanced diet.

So 1 or 2 grams of protein per day is enough for an adult? Is that what you think, stroller?

Try an evening/night out in the fruit orchards, catching insects with a net , No chemicals used in the catching. Some use lights to attract them, but it's all hand/net capture.

    Lucrative as well I'm told.

If I remember rightly the live insects were placed in the freezer, in plastic bags. Sold the next day, less some retained for home consumption.

My role was purely taxi/truck driver/moon and star gazing, drinking and eating home cooked food. NoGPS butlocal knowledge andpermission fromthelandowners, sometimes. Tip, get the return fare prior to the night's endeavours, some suggest if they didn't catch many, a reduction is in order.

Another affordable source of protein for the poor, but I had beans & pulses in mind.

It's not the type or amount of proteins consumed, but more of the quality.
