I think when one posts a whinge or rant and says they are leaving Thailand one needs to really consider the source. I would venture to say that those that post that are malcontents. They were not happy in their home country and then came here and it ended with the same result. Its those same folks that are also whinging about what the next 5 years will be like. They become seriously affected by TV news and all the idiots that post about it. While I do not have numbers I would guess that a great majority of TV members have no life and are bored shitless and sit around all day pounding on their keyboards in some hope they can keep their sanity.

Are things going to change here...you bet. It has to as it evolves. Will the changes be favorable... Who knows but I think it all depends on how one adapts to the changes.

25 years ago it would have been mostly whining about the traffic, and how there would never be any alternative. Then twenty years ago there were people pretty much hoping construction workers would die, thereby proving the superiority of the western world having spent, in many cases, decades living somewhere they love to declare a shithole.

25 years ago the whining was about inflation, prices always going up, hell taxi motocy's at 20 baht, the requirement for motorcycle helmets, playing chicken at the zebra crossings, bar fines, BIB's on the take, virtually NO western products available - those that were cost a ton, corruption, how much votes'll cost this election cycle, timeless whines, mostly in the papers, internet in its infancy
