as i watch the news on thailand most of the day i am finding it difficult to watch,this morning a taped act was recorded which i can only describe as a BABARIC ACT of cruelty which rips your heart out if you love dogs.
a high ranking army officer orders 2 low ranking soldiers to tie up 2dogs on the military camp [lop buri] and leave them suffer in the heat for 6hrs.then have them dumped in a parking lot near the camp.
luckily they were found in a very distressed and dehydrated condition,they are being cared for and I hope they make a full recovery.
10months ago my beloved dog passed away and I am still suffering the grief along with my wife as she was his mum.
I know there is a big problem here with many many homeless dogs,but they don't deserve this kind of treatment.

I'd have thought the military, with all the ammo it has, would have just finished the poor dog off quickly with a bullet if they wanted to kill the dog. Perhaps they just forgot to give the dog water and then forgot about it after. I hope poor Fido gets a good drink and a treat before being released again.

Wouldn't make the news in the west, this sort of treatment of animals.

Best not to watch the news. Turn it off and enjoy a carefree life.

But the dogs may never stray onto the military land again?

May be that being the reason to punish the dogs instead of killing them. As we all know that you can only kill an animal if you intend to eat it according to Buddhism. So to to deter those dogs from returning to the camp................................

Actually, Thai are very tolerant of dogs in circumstances that in any decent civilised society would see them quite happily shot, poisoned or drowned. A black mangy cur that has marked out its territory in my burgh regularly saunters into the local Family Mart to avail itself of the aircon there during particularly hot days and I have yet to see the staff try to shoo it away although to be fair the dog probably has the edge on them in the intelligence stakes.

In all fairness, the dog got better treatment than most new Army recruits.
