Preferred Peter Cook, tbh. More of an all-rounder; brilliant wit and utterly obscene (as Derek w/ Clive).

Different type of humour, Ustinov was a true gent, witty and versatile, also Moore as a fun guy, bit brash, bit slapstick, bit Pythony, nothing wrong with any of that, or Fools and Horses, Fawlty, Black Adder...Brit excellence, sadly little left of that calibre today.

Sorry for that, should be in daily moan!

Interesting when Ted Heath asks Ustinov how would he feel as a politician, what is his philosophy of humanity, as he is known as an interpreter West East mankind generally, abandoning dogma and putting humanity in its place.

Ustinov answering: the media concentrate on what separates us for obvious reason. But once you accept there are differences between us, you are struck by the similarities.

And he is amazed what's happening in Russia today (it's year 1988). At the end he says, watch each other like hawks by all means but don't continue this abrasiveness and malice which is shown by some people in what they say and think. It's quite a time the Russia was treated as a country like any other...

What Peter Ustinov would tell us asking the same question 30 years later?
