Being average right now is quite nice.

In the past: Almost drowned in a lake; almost fell off a cliff as a child; been robbed at gunpoint; married and divorced; non-violently mugged in Tijuana, Angeles City, and Phuket, did a 540 in a 1990 Toyota MR2 on a rain soaked highway exit ramp and did not bounce off the railings; got lost in the jungle on Tioman Island; sucker punched by a bully; might have 'borrowed' a company truck without permission in Tokyo to visit a girlfriend - and stopped by a police checkpoint but let go; chased by a large snake; drove a big rig in white out conditions... and some other stuff I can't recall at the moment.

I've been fortunate in life and I'm grateful.

Now that's more like what I assumed most folks lives are like.

My girlfriend told me a few "stories" and I thought damed, those are good ones.

As for the fish I came close to be dehydrated a few times.

Well vaporized may be the polite way to say it

Many times I could’ve been killed.
Luckily I’m a bit of a retard so I don’t really do fear despite being in lethal situations.
Apart from the guns, drugs, boats, cars, motorcycles, planes, train, electricity, construction, heights, thugs and so on the closest call was the hitchhiking ride with someone I’m certain is a murderer - Ivan Milat.
Never realised until many years after the event how close that call was.

Can't say for sure of course, but same appearance, same vehicle, same area, same time period.

edit - the real clue at the time (which I’d forgotten about for many years) was the alien but strong feeling of unease.
