ALL foreigners to be tracked and monitored by Thai military

ALL foreigners to be tracked and monitored by Thai military

The spokesman for the Defence Ministry says officers are developing a database that will track foreigners from arrival to departure.

Thailand’s military are making plans to monitor the movements of ALL foreigners in the county.

A computer database is being developed to store information about foreigners to help authorities keep track of them while they are in Thailand, defence spokesman Kong[at]cheep Tantravanich admitted.
Tourists, investors and migrant workers are the core groups Thai security authorities want to better monitor with the help of the new database system, Lt Gen Kongcheep said.
This is part of the government’s internal security reform and measures to prevent and resolve transnational crimes and terrorism, said Lt Gen Kongcheep after a Wednesday meeting of the government’s fifth pubic administration reform steering committee, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon.

Updates on the development of the database were acknowledged by Gen Prawit, Lt Gen Prawit, Lt Gen Kongcheep said.

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society is advising the team developing the database to ensure it will be linked to other systems containing information about foreigners to better keep tabs on them from when they enter Thailand until they leave the country, he said.
While waiting for the new database to be completed, law enforcement authorities have been assigned to step up crackdowns on foreigners staying illegally in Thailand, he said.
The Interior Ministry, Tourism and Sports Ministry and Social Development and Human Security Ministry are being assigned to carry out a survey on where foreigners are staying and keep a record of them, he said. – Bangkok Post

Yep. Don't address the rampant crime done by Thai, don't address the dire poverty and lack of education that results in crime, nor the white collar crime, lets focus on toothless old foreigners who actually bring money into the country.

Bad guys out, good guys in has only made life difficult for the good guys. What's needed is some carrots, not just sticks.

Think RFID is old hat now, newer and better chips in your credit cards.
No need to embed under your skin, people happily carry all sorts of chips, from bank/credits cards, public transport cards, passports, too the see all and know all smart phone.

When are farangs going to wake up and realise, and accept, Thailand doesn't want long stay expats living here. They want the short stay, big spending, tourists here. Thailand is for Thais.

I suspect the long stays spend much more actually in Thailand than any 2 week millionaire. Flights paid external, international hotels external. Those are the major holiday costs.

A little food and drink, mongering for some and possibly in country transport. Less than 20 - 30% at a guess. BWDIK

Its too funny for words. The Thais have unwittingly provided all foreign Armies and Secret Services with a free escape and evade training ground, they'll save us a fortune.

Just Thailand getting rid of Cheap Charlie Farang

This combined about news from Joe on anotherforum that US embassies are going to stop providing income affidavits sent all those supposed well off pensioners in the panic mode.

Music to my ears as these same hiso distinguished scum from Kent on dole kept yappping for years how backpackers are unwelcome in Thailand because they spend next to nothing.

Jump of the balcony or fuck off to your nanny state
