Get paid to go to the pub

High on job satisfaction I reckon.

Alternatively a cunning plan to get all the marketing details of enthusiastic pubgoers.

If you spend your evenings standing around and drinking beer in a pub, a vacancy for your dream job has just opened up. Hungry Horse, which owns more than 200 pubs in Britain, wants to give someone 500 to, well, stand around and drink beer in a pub. You’ll also have to get involved with a pub quiz, play pool and darts, and check out what’s on the menu.

The company is looking to hire a ‘pub-licist’ who will be required to get boozy on the job. After their sessions in the pub, they will have to report back to management about any problems or recommendations.

But there isn’t a long term commitment, as the winner will only have to visit their local Hungry Horse five times to claim the 500. The job advert reads: ‘The winner should know their cask from their craft, be a pro at pub quizzes and be a key player in any pub sports tournaments. ‘The ultimate pub-lover will be put through their paces to ensure they get the most out of their role and help to make their local Hungry Horse stand out from the competition. ‘As well as sampling the latest drink selection, the pub-licist will also be required to make a number of visits to their local, in order to provide feedback and recommendations to help make their pub the best in the country.’ If you think you’re the person for the job,
click here to apply. The deadline is November 13.

As it's a secret shopper type thing, I assume, looking at staff as well, 100 gbp won't go far with meals and drinks.
But still, it's 5 free nights out if you don't go over budget.

No bad, but in general I don't like "family" pubs- I am surrounded by kids at work and as much as I like the job I need my downtime

Slap started a great review of the Wetherspoon's menu. I think he got halfway through before Salmonella or E-coli scuppered the rest of it, though.

I agree, and there is nothing worse than a bunch of 5-year olds all blind drunk and trying to pick a fight with you...

Cy, Obsessive, Picky but can never be accused if being insightful, except the odd moment of google augmented inspiration.
