Reading this sort of thread sort of reaffirms my interest in binning smart phones and getting myself a flip phone next time round. I'm getting bored with basically chucking away perfectly good phones that get patched and upgraded into obsolescence as the phone companies try to trick you into buying a new phone every year.

I had cause to visit the Bromley store again today.
The battery is degrading, a couple of hours online and I am down to 40% charge. I am still in warranty. I go there and I am told its not the battery. Its the cloud services that are consuming the power.
So switch them off says he. Or create another profile so's not to update.

I will do. But the telling fact is to get the battery replaced out of warranty would cost me £165.83. Apple only job.

Nice guy, but I know I am getting snowed. My Ipad holds a charge for days. My primitive phone holds a charge for weeks.

I will, in my own time, move to Linux or start using semaphore flags. Till then I am Apples bitch and I don't like it.
