~ 3000 people are killed in Africa every year by hippos. They're pretty nasty bastards.

Beware once over 2 foot it may dampen your ardour and tool if lucky, always use some orphans to suck it up they're always wet behind the beers

Wasn't called ROD Riseandschein for nuttin'

Once a moist teacher called Topper
In the middle of sucking a whopper
Saw liquids spurt up from his drain
As he bent his tool like a crane
His stopcock was able to stop her

If this is so, then investigation into where your drain drains to is required for future reference and possible remedy.

Yeah, quite happy you don't share my world. You wouldn't qualify, anyway.
If the water can cover the floor by 2cm but comes from the drain and the water outside the house is not above the floor level, then it means wherever the drain leads to has a higher water level or pressure than 1.the floor, and 2. the water level outside. Which also means it's worth investigating for 1.future reference and remedy, and 2.maybe it is the fault of council equipment or workmanship.
Water doesn't flow uphill, didn't you know.
Note the "presumably" in my first post, both of you. I presume if the water outside the house was above floor level that it would be seeping in not just from the kitchen drain and therefore the drain alone would not have been blamed.
Also note the "Let me get this straight", ie looking for clarification from the OP.
