Thatís hardly Ďsitting on the fenceí, in this context.

Here's a link to a similiar if not the same story. It does say that not all the drop in share price is because of his (Musk's) latest utterance.

    http://www.msn.com/en-au/money/compa...cid=spartanntp

An excerpt from the story for those who don't want to read it all.

But Musk took the brawl one step further, ranting to his 22 million Twitter followers on Sunday that Unsworth was a pedophile who “really did ask for it.” Pressed to explain the accusation, Musk instead doubled down: “Bet ya a signed dollar it’s true.”Rattled investors sent Tesla shares tumbling 3 percent on Monday, extending a losing streak for a company that was only weeks ago America’s most valuable automaker, worth more than General Motors. Musk’s critics have long said his bitter slugfests — with rivals, partners, analysts, journalists and employees, to name a few — have hamstrung Tesla on its vaunted mission to reshape the auto industry and change the world.Tesla stock has plunged more than 16 percent since last month, shaving billions of dollars off the company’s market value at a time when it still depends on investor cash and confidence. The company lost $2 billion last year and has never earned an annual profit.Even Musk’s shareholders and supporters are beginning to question how his temper could affect the company he built, and their bottom line.

I think it's likely given the lack of constraint shown by the ceo by making a clown of himself on social media.

Not to mention his totally impracticable submarine idea which showed him up to be a very poor engineer and revealed to all and sundry that he is really just another spoilt brat with an inheritance surrounded by yes men. I mean if you look at the footage created by the seal team some of the those pass through points were tiny, so its obvious Mush didn't do any proper target analysis, this is the kind of error that would have seen him fail the first year of an engineering degree if he'd submitted this submarine as an end of year project never mind on a mission critical project where dozens of lives were at stake.
    ---

imo ..Vern was right to call him out it was about time someone did.
It was pretty obvious he was trying to position himself in the limelight to siphon off the free publicity for his company without actually helping the rescue in any way shape or form, while at the same time the real heroes were actively avoiding the media, just because that is what real heroes do.

Now Musk has shit the bed on all the positivity generated from the successful rescue, again its typical behaviour of a narcissistic, spoilt and entitled brat with too much money, but no doubt his homoerotic fanboys disagree and will continue with their straw clutchings.

I don't think there's a need for a link. Everyone is aware...by "mouthing off" I was referring to Vern saying Musk's attempts to contribute were all a publicity stunt and he can shove his sub where it hurts.

Then can your explain the communications that Rick Stanton had with Musk? On the 8th of July Stanton was still asking Musk for the sub, and this was after the ex-govenor of Chiang Rai had turned Musk's offer down.

Do you have a source with a direct quote from Stanton saying he wanted to use the sub?

Musk left the submarine outside the cave before the rescue started, can you explain why it wasn't used by Stanton?
    ----

    In the meantime:

Coventry firefighter Rick Stanton revealed he was never "totally convinced" about billionaire Elon Musk's plans to use a mini-sub to rescue a group of children trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning today, Rick said the submarine was only a back-up plan, but admitted he had never actually seen it.

The Guv had already said no, perhaps? Can't make the Guv lose face, TIT. That's a very real possibility.
The final plan which needed the Interior Minister's sign-off wouldn't sign-off on it? I don't know. What I do know is that right up to the 9th (Thai time) Stanton was behind the scheme and Musk was aware of all the obstacles within the cave and designed accordingly.

Musk has since said publically that he will get the sub to cavern 5 to prove to the doubters. That is quite foolhardy if he was not 100% confidant.
Vern Unsworth, a grumpy-for-some-reason Brit caver vs Elon Musk, an intelligent guy with a custom, one-off, purpose built in-a-rush sub.
Who do you waver in favour of?

I thought the mini sub was rejected on Tuesday 10 July.

I wouldn't call Musk's twitter page a reliable source for what Stanton actually said.

I stopped reading when you started spouting nonsense about TIT and 'losing face' to support your argument. Your suggestion that a highly trained and experienced cave rescue diver like Stanton would choose the 2nd best rescue option because the Thais might lose face is frankly laughable.

Obviously you are one of the homoerotic musk fanboys I referred to earlier in the thread.

Everyone involved in the rescue were quietly getting on with the job and not discussing it publicly in the media .
Musk shows up with his toys and shows the media how HE intends to rescue the kids and takes all the publicity and that must have annoyed the real rescuers ?

Oooo! From a polite discussion and exchange to personal insults. Well done.

Do you really think Musk would post a doctored email from Stanton? Something Stanton could easily publically refute.
Do you really think the Interior Minister would stand to be contradicted publically, and do you not think the Brit team had been warned to be careful of treading on powerful Thai toes?

OK, I can see where your discussion skills lie with reverting to personal insults...so no more from me to you.

Derogatory comments about Thailand, "TIT" and a baseless accusation that the Thais would rather put the boys lives at further risk by choosing the 2nd best option rather than lose face is not what I would call "a polite discussion".

Well Musk has already accused Vern(the guy responsible for bringing Stanton to Thailand) ..of being a paedophile, which can also be easily refuted, so who knows what else he is capable of.

By the way if you're white and living in Thailand you are also a paedophile according to Musk.

But, getting back to your point, those screenshots provided by Musk on his twitter feed showing Stanton's one line replies to his emails are from when he was still working on the sub and Stanton and no one else had seen his finished product.

Maanaam, the emails from Stanton to Musk posted on Musks Twitter account were dated 7 and 8th of July - before the start of the rescues had begun - and the "mini-sub" wasn't finished at that point.

Ex governor Narongsak made his "not suitable" comments publicly at a press conference on Tuesday 10 July, which was the third day (not second as I previously posted) of the rescue mission.

You are unequivocally being a hypocrite yet again there.

It seems that using a long word correctly is fine on the very rare occasion that you manage it.

Why not just read and learn?

I am not the one who claims to once had a girlfriend who went to University and so that makes me really intelligent because she taught me a few big words , so I have no need to look into dictionarys and post big words to make myself appear to be intelligent to keep up that facade, that Im not really dim

Musk also going on about his Boring company in the media , he seemed more intent on publicizing his company , rather than getting the boys out
