A guy on the corner of an intersection had a sign of sorts, I forgot exactly what it said as this was years ago. Nonetheless I had just left McDonalds with a bunch of food. I pulled over to give the guy a sandwich and he cursed me out saying he needs money not food. Go figure.

Another time it was the fourth of July. I took the family to the park to watch the fireworks. I stopped at a liquor store to pick up a six pack. An American Indian was sitting on the sidewalk and asked if I could give him some beer so I thought what the hell and bought him a six pack of Miller. Only a couple of bucks, no big deal.

Later that evening I was walking down to where they were lighting off the fireworks and I saw the guy whith a dozen other American Indians. They had a pile of beer on a picnic table. I asked the guy I bought the beer for If I could have one of their beers. Another guy jumped in and damn near scalped me, telling me off and such. The other guy just looked shocked as he knew I bought him beers.

I call those learning moments, now feeding kids that's a tough one. Like they say, if it makes you feel good do it.

I lived in the city back then. I saw many thing go down. Wouldn't change it for the world. My low point was 19th and state.
Thinking back I should have bought the south side. Today you can't touch anything for under a couple of million. Luckily Im quite content with my lot. I should say lots.

Im replacing that fixture today with an led like the other one. Do you do painting? The window trim needs a coat and Im not thrilled about being on a ladder on this deck. Of course I could pay someone to do this for me but that's just not who I am.
