Yes. The Belgian bum bandit moistens ring pieces for a dollar with his tongue

But that is not the procedure I desire

I just want to check for the common cancers that normally start to affect men it their late 40's so if I have any developing then finding out early seems to be the favoured choice

Look, are you American or what?

Generally speaking, you develop a problem with your body it lets you know with little signals we in the trade call symptoms. If you have no symptoms then there is no fucking point in having a test, is there?

Pain is a good marker, as indeed is the presence of blood in your excreted bodily fluids, or black shit, or poor piss flow accompanied by frequent urges to piss, or a high fever. Also, inexplicable weight loss, continual retching, debilitating fatigue, numbness, hallucinations, or a fucking great growth on your head are all little hints something might be awry.

But if you have none of these then just what fucking test did you have in mind. But assuming you did have a 12,000 baht platinum check up and they did some blood work on your white cell count etc and it all came up negative and you went home feeling fucking invincible, what's to stop you developing some bile duct cancer the following week?

Christ, 45 years old and he's worried about death. Fucking idiot.

Colon cancer takes 10 years to develop from small polyps which give no symptoms for most of that time. It is unique in that it is the most easily preventable cancer apart from solar keratoses which are pre-cancerous skin thickening.

Elizabeth Montgomery (who played Samantha in Bewitched) died from it because by the time she realized something was wrong, it was too late.

A blood PSA test is quite adequate. I had a finger in my bum twice and it was very uncomfortable...though the second time I had wised up and chose a lady doctor with small hands.

...the prostate is a different issue: the digital exam is much more fun. I'd recommend an annual lower abdomen ultra-sound exam from age 50 to check on prostrate enlargement (which is a cause of difficult urination or what Earl calls "going dry")...

if you have a family history of botty Ca - then 40 years up every 5 years.
I've had 3 I think - the anal intrusion is relatively easy to accept after the humiliation of nurses assessing your arse spray - as tax says.

I remember the 1st time time thinking the stuff wasn't working - and then the dam burst - so to say.

I have a yearly exam from AEK hospital for ~B9,500. Blood, urine, stool checks with chest X-ray and ECG followed by ultra-sound of lower abdomen. If they pick anything up then they advise on next step. I ended up having a liver fibroscan this year (B1000) due to some fat seen on the liver during the earlier tests. Nothing too much to worry about if you can stay off the alcohol for a few weeks.

At 45, you might want to have the tests done every couple of years and then annually when you reach 55 or so.

I had a doctor's appointment quite recently to discuss colonoscopy at Samitivej Sukhumvit.
    Price around 26,000 baht.
1 day outpatient. I was asked to avoid certain foods for a day or so - fibre/dairy I believe.
No food from the night before, a self administered enema in the morning prior to leaving for the hospital and then a few hours at the hospital for the procedure

So on top of a lifetime of taking roughly 300km of foreign pipe and various rubber and plastic objects up your derriere Tom, you've also been having these professional sessions for the last quarter century and theyve found nothing wrong with you?

I agree. If you are reasonably self aware your body will tell you if its not right. Now if you are a fat ass, stress a lot, inactive, eat crap food, smoke cigs, drink copious amounts of alcohol, sit under florescent lights all day or take lots of various meds then you are likely a perfect candidate for ongoing preventative health checks ups. Of course family medical history can lead to some testing as well

Getting a blood test every few years to check on some key indicators is more then adequate. If no red flags, then no need for all the unnecessary deep dive procedures.

Fair point TC, guess it depends on the individual. If I make it to 75 I am done seeing docs for anything other then hopefully some good drugs to keep aches and pains away. No need to start probing then hacking me up to add a few years. I have lived a GREAT life
