Bela Fleck!
For two hours I've been trying to remember the name of a US banjo player with an Eastern Europeanish name who I saw play at AUA in Bangkok in the late nineties.
Interesting that he mentions 'Deliverance' as changing the deal for banjo players.
That makes 3 Cork grandmothers, a Trifecta, you can keep the Cork Buoys down but not for long...
Great stuff CJ I too grew up with Django love it
No Kottke fans?

Your OP title gets on my tits a bit. Wish I could,...of course you can jackcracker. Knew a guy who picked up a guitar in his 50s. So good, only regret is,...no he has no regrets.
Another woman with a violin in retirement. Could have a symphony seat.
OK this is from 2008, imagine what he's like now.
What a guitarist and player Rory was. On fire on stage till he was dragged down with the medication he was taking for his fear of flying.
Shame he never married and settled down on a farm in Ireland, playing in the local pub once a week.
Seems like he should have married your Mum!
Just re-acquainting myself with the guitar as my young lad is starting to play at school, and seems to be quite keen..
For the rank amateur, this is pretty good. http://www.tropicalmba.com/learn-to-play-guitar/
Be careful what you wish for.
Let's just say a friend of the devil is a friend of mine.
Roy Clark, Glenn Campbell and Jim Stafford are my favorites from that era...Jim Stafford's blend of comedy and playing is something the world has lost...
Masters of their craft..Roy went Hollywood, Glenn died early and Jim just rocked on playing casinos.
I've the 45 of that one.
"I didn't know what happened, but I knew it beat the hell out of sniffing burlap."
My pop had a Rockola Juke box. Three plays for a quarter.
Man I wish I had that thing today. That was really cool even back then.
I pulled the 45s out before he sold it. Oh well better than nothing.
Look who's introducing this one...
i hear buriramboy's had a guitar sneaked into his cell, and everybody's dancing to the jailhouse cock.
Sorry SKkin for being a bit obvious with this but it's just such a wonderful display of bends and runs I couldn't let it pass by.
