oh sweet jesus
That's fine, so long as they made a donation to the good causelooks like about a hundred or so geriatric balloon chasers having a snooze.
Tbf there was no room for the zimmer frames on the postage stamp sized dance floor.
LT did a good job keeping them all parked up outside.
I doubt anyone will put there name to throwing a couple of hundred baht in a charity bucket unless they are going to get free advertising or something back.
All charity events are about is self bleeding promotion.
Generally a fraction of what is raised trickles down to the needy.
100 attendees x 500 THB =
Less costs = peanuts.
We used to hold a gala auction evening in our village for our school. All locals chipped in with what they could, a free balloon ride, a days fly fishing instruction, a butchered pig, a days pheasant shooting, a case of local wine, afternoon tea with the local Lord and Lady..........
Food and drink was provided by all, along with the prizes to be auctioned. The local auctioneer was brought in and invites sent to the local and big city boys contacts.
The parking attendants employed to guard the Range Rovers and Ferraris. The sheep were fed and watered liberally and the bidding began. Trinkets, local produce and services were bid higher and higher and the alcohol flowed. A very loud, bantering, merry evening was had by all. The waitresses (school teachers) were dressed for distraction, the city boys pandered to at one of their annual, must attend, events.
Every year a good sum was moved from the visitor's wallets, who barely noticed, more intent in the playing the obliging fool, to the school fund box and the kids got new school bits and pieces.
The school hall brushed and mopped, ready for Monday morning. Nobody flew in, we had performing world mega stars living around us, some of course were performing elsewhere.

A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
Gee- a charity event in Pattaya, and not one chrome pole molester in sight. Shurly shome mishtake?
I worked for a charity as a corporate fundraiser over 20 years ago and it was scandalous, only 1p in £ had to go to charity by law.
It's fucking corrupt all the way up to the top, even with the national lottery.
So long as the geriatrics in attendance went home with that feel good factor, a gut full of curried pies and a blowjob of Noi from Nakon Nowhere then all's good...
i extremely confident that none of the donations will go missing and the kids in need will benefit greatly from this wonderful charity event.
I just hope others who are able will arrange similar events in the near future.
What's my camping trip and calling me a chav have to do with this thread.
Did the bar donate the drinks profits for charity?
Did all staff and entertainers work for free?
Was everything donated for free?
Were any expenses deducted from the gross amount raised?
^^^^ If your asking me Chitty I have no idea but it was publicly stated during the evening that every penny made would go to the charity.
As I know most of the people involved in the organisation of the event I am sure that there will be no silly stuff.
I am also sure there will be announcement from 103 FM with regard to the success of the event.
I suppose we will all have to wait and see.
^^ I met up with a few of your mates at the event B.B.
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves immensely.
430,000 Baht was raised and "close to" 400 tickets were sold for the event, according to Tommy D on the radio this morning. Even by LC's lofty standards of talking total horse shit, his 2000 figure was always completely laughable.
But anyway, 430k is a nice wedge that will be going to the Take Care Kids foundation which is a great effort by the people who actually did something to make it happen (besides posting self promotion fantasy on this forum).
A fine effort... Kudos to Loy Toy and others who put their hands in their pockets or actually did something to raise for the kids......unlike some cheap shot dodgy teflers on here who ironically make their livelihoods from impoverished children.
Good stuff. Nice chunk of change going to a stand-up charity.
Well done lads.
