Look, it's what it is. Like any big city, you'll find venues, circles, people to like etc. And you are being paid to be there- significantly more than you would be in other parts of Thailand I trust. I'm sure we will hear from you in due course about the excellence of the management, the Thai bureaucratic mindset, and how they put the business of educating the educationally starved Thai above all else . Suffice to say, if daddies rich you cannot fail or discipline them, in fact it seems to me you cannot fail anyone. That is why I could never be a teacher here, I'm privy to too many stories.
My only advice- live somewhere convenient to where you work. Then immerse yourself in it, and make the best of it. No reason you can't have a good time, however long it lasts.
