World's First Trillionaire Will Be an Asteroid Miner

The world's first trillionaire will make his or her fortune from space mining, according to renowned investment bank and financial services company Goldman Sachs.

Goldman Sachs has long supported the asteroid mining venture, and recent advancements in space technology are now making the business look more realistic and lucrative.

Goldman Sachs believes that space mining is the next trillion-dollar industry and that the first trillionaire in the world will rise to such status by mining asteroids for resources, reported RT.

NASA has identified over 12,000 asteroids within about 45 million kilometers of Earth, and each one of them have the potential of functioning like treasure chests. Geologists think that the asteroids contain precious metals, iron ore, nickel, and other minerals at much higher concentrations than found on our planet.

Goldman Sachs has monitored the industry with the improvements in mining technology and the lowering costs of space travel.

"While the psychological barrier to mining asteroids is high, the actual financial and technological barriers are far lower," the investment bank said, showing its belief in the future of space mining.

Your future trillionaire, will need to posses the capable technology, to transverse the cosmic firmament, first. Thus, you can rest assured, that "phenomenal event" shall never take place.

Pretty hard call, but my money, were I to make a bet (and I don't gamble) would be on Jeff Besos. His Amazon operation is so slick, and covers all of the retail bases and is getting more and more sophisticated.

A week or so ago, I was looking for a particular item and trawled the usual Lazada etc etc, with no joy. Hit the latest Amazon, and there it is, with what appears to be a new feature of import tax inclusion (this actually panned out as when I got the delivery from UPS, nothing to pay).

Sure there will be the Asian look a-likes, with AliBaba, Lazada etc to the fore, but Amazon holds the ace cards in terms of the range of products.

    Just my thoughts.

As I've said before helium 3 is the future, abundant on the moon, which ever country or entity finds a way to mine it and transport it back to planet earth will be the next superpower or gazillionaire. Obviously a few logistical problems to overcome before then and unlikely to be in my lifetime but that's the future energy source.

Space mining will be occurring before you know it.

The space industry is mere steps away from affordable travel, imo.

Meanwhile on this greenish blue ball of mud:

A woman in S Florida approached me yesterday morning as I was fishing behind her restaurant with 3 unidentifiable (at least to us) rocks that looked meteor-like. I encouraged her to get them checked out.

Back in Saudi, I got pretty into the idea of space rock hunting. You make a route containing lots of wind-swept areas of sand and photograph them monthly. The scanning can be done at home. It's not that Saudi has an edge on them landing there, any desert area will do.

I got less interested when I dug deeper and discovered that the chances of (1st) finding anything valuable would have been cut short by the inability to remove it from the country.

People can joke but do a little research into helium 3 and you'll see. I won't post any links because of the tin foil shit. So if interested research it your self. Helium 3 but unfortunately the shit ain't here on planet earth.

Apparently the temperatures required to achieve helium-3 fusion reactions are much higher than in traditional fusion reactions. Why should we not just use fusion ?

In order to return the payload to Earth you would need as a rule of thumb around 9 X the weight in fuel to effect successful re-entry. To do that and to contain the payload, one would need a fucking huge re-entry vehicle the size of an American nuclear aircraft carrier and then double it in order to get it into orbit in the first fucking place.
This sort of fantasy shit is just so fucking stupid it could only be American.

FYI ~ Wilbur and Orville were not attempting to punch a hole through the firmament, either. You're mixing apples, w/ oranges there, sir!

By that time they'll have Star Trek-style transporters.

Funny nobody has mentioned Elan Musk. Space x plans to be on Mars in the next 10 years. Tesla makes electric vehicles, and his Boring corp, is figuring out how to bore giant holes in the earth. Maybe he has a plan..

they wouldn't have to. All they would need to do is bring back enough product to make building a fucking huge re-entry vehicle the size of an American nuclear aircraft carrier and then double it in order to get it into orbit in the first fucking place worth the trip....you know like a trillion or 2 dollars.

A well timed thread as I just happen to have a high quality asteroid I can let someone have at a reasonable price (before the market heats up). Mostly good quality iron but with some zinc seams. In a highly sought after orbit between Earth and Mars and due to come within grabbing distance in 2020.

Opportunities like these will be hens teeth in a couple of years.

Expressions of interest by PM please.
