barack obama strikes me as a genuinely decent and intelligent person....more so than any other president during my adult life.

his presidency wasn't perfect by any means, but i'm confident that he did the best he could over eight years to help people....and all things considered, he did a damn good job IMO.

You did say Adult and I was a child when he was president but I think the last one before was Carter.

My two favorite words at the moment are "DIGNITY" and "TRUST".

Both of these attributes or qualities seem to have been diminished if not lost on the scale of things that count in this modern world in which we languish.

I think I might tend to attribute both to Obama, at least at a personal level.

It might well be impossible to attribute such qualities to "politicians" in general in this day and age, an oxymoron if you will.

    Just a thought.

    Obama didn't deliver, period.

You could claim that nobody does, but he was supposed to change that and be that change

he wasn't, hence he failed in my book, and remember the reason we have Trump now, this is his legacy

in some ways, he was a bit of a fraud, selling dreams he knew he couldn't deliver

a bit like Trump at the end, a dream fraud

yet he was very eloquent and elegant, and we love him for it, that's the trademark of all great scam artists

He certainly knew how to work an audience, made us want to like him, unfortunately his actions never backed up his words!

    Seriously?
Are you still going with that?

    That's quite surreal.

Not that I really care but the fact that after all these years you still seem to believe this stuff is bizarre and reflects only on you.
Which is the next one, the moon landing, JFK, the virgin birth, pies are good for you..................

I mentioned above that, at the moment my favorite words are "TRUST" and "DIGNITY".

To follow up on that my most hated words are probably "ARROGANCE" and "BULLIES".

One almost feels the urge to create a poll to see who would ascribe which terms to which politicians.

    Maybe Thailanbound could run it.

obama did very well trying to clean up the messes dubya left (the economy crash and iraq/afghanistan), IMO.

unfortunately, hillary's neo-con tendencies apparently influenced obama resulting in removing khadafi and putting spooks into syria to support terrorists fighting in the syria civil war.

in addition, obama didn't heal the racial wounds and probably made them worse as during the obama admin political correctness became the norm on uni campuses, giving students the right to run away from speech they disagree with: trigger warnings, safe spaces (cupcakes and ice cream for those who are afraid to be offended by free speech), etc.

i teach uni students, including international students (black kids from the u.s., etc.) and the young generation of thais, chinese, americans (and others) think that women and men are equal and races are equal.

the wars were fought and won by previous generations. time to move on, IMO.

candice owens talking common sense!!! enough of this victim hood.

Sigh! Obviously, you've yet to comprehend the Oval Office realities of the past 54 years, and 5 months; eh? No worries about that, and, you can rest, blissfully assured of your membership within a huge collective, of majority ruled constituents! Have a happy, and Cheeri

yours and snubs post , both declare the uselessness of democratic voting. a general election is intended to be for the electorate to vote for manifestoes that will benefit, improve the country, it is not a vote for self enhancement.

it is not a vote for your best interests....this is why giving joe soap a vote is a waste of time

You seem very agitated. Are you all right?
