Most famous person from whom you've received an e mail

Just one nomination per person . The winner (title awarded by popular acclaim), will have to prove it by reposting the e mail

It doesn't matter if its some freaky, stalkerish correspondence, leading, say, to Britney Spears writing. "Sod off Marmers, I am not sending you my soiled, skid-marked knickers".

I'll set the ball rolling with my nomination,..... George Layton from 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum'.

    Which one was he?

I can remember Mr Lah-Dee-Dah Gunner Graham, the Scottish one, Sergeant Major, Lovely Boy, and the dumpy one in the pith helmet, and the gay one that wore make-up.

I am assuming he wasn't the char wallah

    He was Bombardier Solly Solomons.
He was actually more famous in the seventies sitcom Doctor in the House.

Doesn't ring a bell but you can hire the DVD from Blockbuster now so I might give it a go one evening just to remember all the characters.

Marmite the Dog sent me an e-mail once but I'm afraid I've disposed of it so have decided not to enter this competition. Thanks for the invite, though.

This competition is just made for Gentleman Scamp, given his television days. E mails along the lines of

    Dear Scampy
    You're fired
    Love
    Famous Person

Got one from Her Majesty, a letter not an email, it was sent via her personal sorting office at the Customs and Excise. I didn't reply. Very discourteous of me. Now I live in Thailand and we don't correspond anymore. Shame.
