Woman caused accident after dressing up as a T-Rex and growling at horses | Metro News

Reminds of a similar (ish) incident when I used to live in a small village in the Chiltern Hills, where horse-riding was popular.

A woman was riding her horse along a bridle path next to a field, with a dense hedge separating the path from the field.

At a certain point, the horse heard a noise in the field and stopped to look. At that moment a large ostrich poked its head up from behind the hedge.

The horse dropped dead on the spot! (Clearly it had a nervous disposition).

Turned out that there was an ostrich farm in the field, and horses don't expect to see these types of birds in a Chiltern field....

After that, I used to carry my wee tots to visit the ostriches. They grew up probably thinking that ostriches are native to the UK.
