Future urbanisation progress of Bangkok and suburbs, including all railways, buildings, main roads and anything else related.

Plenty of 'then & now' scenarios too. I travel around the city regularly, and it's an interest of mine.

Righto, well Bangkok certainly has some of the best rail transport of the world, and it is improving daily.

The MRT and BTS lines are truly remarkable..

I'm exited to see the the MRT expanded past Hua Lampung. I can go from Khlong Toei to Chinatown soon.

An historic note: during the hey day [1870s/1880s], Bangkok enjoyed one of the most modern, developed and efficient electric inner-city train/trolly systems in the world - putting the European capitols to shame. Naturally, this accolade was quite short-lived.

Little later than that Jeff and ran much longer. Probably some good pictures for your thread. I have seen Sathorn as a majestic tree lined street, but never the trams.

Interesting read, with a lot of links.

The station at Itsaraphap already has the above ground stuff finished. I'm guessing they're digging under the river as we speak.

I thought it'd be old buffers coupling on the "purple line", are you offering refunds Pat to disappointed riders?

PS Pat yer supposed to pay on entry

    Luckily Slyam won't have

else the gals of Eslum would pop home for lunch and buff halo repairs

excuse me earl.... You have been able to do that for a long time.. If Hua Lampung is China town to you. There is no link to Yaowarat. Hence why I queried you. Thanks for the polite discussion. Enjoy Petkasem 48 its a killer.

Why this started because you can go there now and have been able to since the line opened. Why did you write soon? When you are now calling me out and saying Hualumpong is Chinatown. SOON>>

Future Orange line, as shown on the potential (eventual) map. I'd imagine it would open in stages.

Thailand Cultural Centre has already allocated extensive space for platforms and tunnels. Which is why it has 3 levels, not the usual two.

Quite an extensive route. Hard to envisage stations in some of these overcrowded locations.

    ....and finally
